She could feel him giving in, feel him allowing her to reassure him, and while she suspected he would continue to blame himself, she at least hoped that he that he realised that she didn’t blame him. She meant what she said, it hadn’t been anyone’s fault, and she hoped that assuaged his guilt somewhat.
