When asked what Calcutta was like, he said simply “Hot.” He wasn’t sure he should get into the work he had done there, the people he’d had to watch suffer. He’d been able to do a lot of good there, been able to help many, but certainly not all of them. It was both a rewarding and emotionally draining experience.
