"... Steve." Then he was gone, he was in this purple space at first he thinks he's alone, but then there's Steve... only it's 15 year old Steve smiling at him.

"What the hell happened to you Buck?" He asks with a laugh moving toward him, "Also how you gonna get a job with that hair... though I gotta say kind of like it, the ladies would be jealous."

Bucky snorts but his eyes narrow and he looks around. "What are you looking for Buck?"

"A way back to you... grown up you?" He says pushing his fingers through his hair.

"Oh well, you will, might take awhile." He says honestly.

He walks toward the purple and pushes against it, can almost see grown Steve moping on the couch, he looks crushed. He pushes again and feels like he gets closer, but suddenly he's tired.

"Takes practice and a lot of engery." Small Steve says.

Steve feels numb. One second they were there and the next those who were gone...were gone. Turned into dust right before their eyes Bucky among them. He couldn't remember getting back to the palace he just knew that they did. He sat in one of the bedrooms just trying to figure out what to do next. "Dammit punk," he muttered, "it wasn't supposed to be like this.

Buck takes a breath and looks at little Steve, "I have to get back." He says to his oldest friend, "We can finally have what we always wanted to..." He says looking at the shadowy figure of Steve.

He pushes himself to his feet and pushes again. "Steve." He calls out pushing against the shimmering purple, his heart aching for Steve at the moment and he feels the purple haze start to bend.

Steve's head snaps up. For a moment it sounded like.....but it couldn't be....could it? He swallows hard. "Bucky," he calls out softly. "Buck...are you here or am I going crazy...I have to be going crazy."

Steve can hear him, Steve can hear him. "Fuck..." He presses again, and "Steve I can see you... I think I'm in one of the stones..." he says throwing his shoulder into the purple wall, smaller Steve just watching him a small smile on his face. "I'm not dead, pal." The force of his shoulder makes a purple ripple appear in Steve's room.

Steve stands up and looks at the purple flicker. "Bucky," he said louder as he moves to the center of the room. "Buck where are you?"

He pushes more, "I dunno, it's all purple, one of the stones maybe? You before the war is here... it's weird." He says pushing harder and he appears purple in the room before flickering away. "I'm getting really tired trying to break through Steve if I can break through." He appears flicker again, it looks like a portal is trying to open.

Hi Bruce, The words sounded hollow and strangled even to Natasha's ears. Was that what she expected to say to him after two years? Probably not, but this wasn't exactly an ideal time or situation but it was what it was.

She looked at Steve, who glanced at her, nodding her head slightly, while she glared at Sam's comment. He would pay for that comment later.

"It's good to see you,"

"Bucky," Steve says trying to come up with a plan. If Bucky is stuck in a stone that means anyone else they lost could be too. "James....can you figure out where the stone is? Where Thanos is?" It's a long shot, but he has to try. He uses Bucky's real name to make it clear he needs Bucky to focus and think.

Bucky takes a moment and takes a deep breath and looks around slowly, "The only things I can see are 15 year old you, whose in here with me, and when I try to press through you." He says licking his lips. "Maybe we can pull me out, it bends more everytime I put my weight toward you."

Bruce wishes Thor or Tony was here to serve as a buffer between him and Nat. He's body language was tight in a way that it hadn't been in years as he gives her a shy wave and walks to the rest of the group. "Nat,' he says unsure if Hi would be too much or not enough.

Steve extends his hand heart racing as he feels hope flaring to life again. "Reach for my hand Buck...come on punk you can do it. I'm right here waiting for you come back." His voice tired and angry cracks with deep emotion. "Please?"

"You guys can hold hands?" the younger Steve asks tilting his head to the side.

"We're supposed to get married." Bucky says taking a deep breath, "Knew I wanted it when we were 15... didn't think we'd ever get it..." He says to what's probably some figment from deep in his brain... maybe.

Bucky takes a deep breath and runs toward Steve reaching out through the purple haze, and suddenly feels something strong pushing him from behind... trying to help it. It's the younger Steve. "I'm trying, jerk," Bucky says and it feels weird and kind of hurts, but he can feel his heart swelling up with how much he needs to get back to Steve.

Nat looks at Bruce but is talking to their host. "I think a little time to regroup would be good, Yes?" Her gaze moving to Steve finally. "We can't do shit if we pass out from starvation or exhaustion. "

Natasha walked over, or rather past Bruce, as she did, she whispered follow me, leading him to a room that overlooked Wakanda.

Steve and Crew finally made it to safety. Wakanda as they once knew it was gone, but some of them were safe at least. He couldn't believe that they had lost the battle. He had lost people in battle before, but this time.... well, this time hurt.

He walked into the Room given to Tony and stopped in the doorway.

"Tony...."
