Often times we are left without resolution or closure. Or we find ourselves wishing we could speak with those who are no longer with us just to relay news or seek advice. Death steals from us not just a person, but the opportunity to share with that person the rest of our lives. And maybe that's the most difficult thing of it all.

But whether it be through the supernatural, some freak science accident, magic, or some other force beyond our knowledge, you now have a chance to spend a moment with someone who has been long lost. Have a conversation. Yell at them how unfair them leaving was. Cry, hug-- whatever you need to do before this door closes again.

[Things That Could Go Horribly]

[There was no way this was real. Perhaps it was some sort of trick or his grief and guilt were playing a horrible trick on him. He didn't know what it was that brought him and his father together but here he was. He didn't know what to say to him or if he could even look him in the eye. This thought brought him to look down at his feet, as if he was a child again and guilty of some wrongdoing.]

Why are you here?

[Yes because this wasn't completely his fault too. He could pin this one on his father, surely.]

[ He'd fallen asleep, and he's used to sometimes falling into Rey's dreams and visions at times. And his own dreams are no unfamiliar bedfellow-- those are generally more violent and dark. Seeping isolation and memories he'd rather forget.

But this time. This time is different.

His eyes open and it's so vivid he feels like he's awake. Which would possibly be less disconcerting if he hadn't awoken on the Falcon. There's a rush as he tumbles over his own feet. He's rolling out of a bunk (The one which has his name scratched above it) and taking a few heavy deep breaths, trying to figure out how he got here when-- he feels a tugging pull towards the cockpit.

He'd recognize it anywhere.

He pushes himself up and finds each step is faster than the last until he's practically dashing through the hallway.

His hand slam into either side of the threshold and-- there's no Chewie, but there's stars flashing by and that old familiar hum.

And his father. Sitting in the pilot's seat. Like the last couple of weeks had never happened.

Drunk texts were one thing. Easily dismissed as a restless mind, tired and pulled thin. But this. This was another.

He stumbles, only for a moment, over which name to use before deciding on: ]

Father. [ He struggles with it still. But calling him Han after everything which happened with Rey seems wrong. ] What's going on?

[ Like Han Solo would understand what the force is doing, but he may as well ask and confirm that. ]
