CONSTANT SUPPORT shipping meme Some people just attract trouble wherever they go; you're cut from that cloth, whether you want it or not. You go on adventures, you battle, you get into battles fights, honestly, because of your mouth, don't take care of yourself, or you just invite stress wherever you go even if you're completely innocent. Can you go a week without getting your peace, or whatever's left of it, disturbed? Probably not. There's always one place away from that black cloud, though: by the side of your crush, your significant other, your lover, or your plain special person. It's no safe house that they're perpetually in, exactly. It's...them. Just them being themselves. They're always there to support you in any form you need, with or without providing your needed douse of reality. If they have to, they'll clean you up, bandage you if you're bleeding out, feed you, cuddle with you, or give you the respect and distance your bruised ego requires. In the end, they're always the one you need. Admit it. No? Okay, they'll still be the shoulder you can always rest on. Even the most hardened of badasses (which you don't have to be) could use that once in a while. Don't worry if you don't deserve them - you probably don't, but who deserves anything? It was late, very late, and the house was quiet and still when he suddenly woke up. If he had been dreaming, he didn't remember it. He paused to listen, thinking maybe the noise of some intruder had woken him, but all he heard was the quiet crackling of the fire. Reassured, he relaxed and rolled over to press against Lagertha only to find himself alone in bed.

So that's what had woken him.

Assuming she'd be back in a moment, he waited, but after a growing stretch of time and silence, he pushed himself out of bed with a sigh, padding through the house to look for her. He found her quickly, standing in the moonlight looking out the window, still as a statue. He watched her a moment before easing up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and tucking his chin over her shoulder so he could speak in a low whisper into her ear.

Once there, however, he could think of nothing to say, so he simply pressed a light kiss to her neck and inhaled deeply.

She had been dreaming and what started as the green, rolling hills of their home had changed to something different - dark trees that seemed either dead or frozen and a sense of dread that had woken her up with the urge to get her sword in hand. It had taken checking on her husband beside her before looking in on the children and making sure Gyda was covered to her chin before the claw around her heart loosened.

Lagertha was no seer and only paid attention to her dreams when the Gods spoke to her through them; something this obviously was. The worry they'd set in her stole away the chance of sleep but the peace of the night and the clarity of the moon was a good reminder that whatever her dreams, her family was happy, healthy and together.

Her lips curled at his first unmistakable touch, wrapping her arms around his as she leaned a little of her weight into him. "What are you doing out of bed?" Spoken quietly, so as to not disturb the children, though they'd slept through louder lovemaking.

Naturally, he was unable to help nuzzling her neck and hair, even despite the somewhat ominous and solemn atmosphere.

"I came to ask you the same question," He mumbled, his fingers finding and slipping between her's, "It's late... and cold. You're cold."

He could feel the chill on her hands and arms. Had she been that deep in her own thoughts that she hadn't noticed?

"What woke you?" His attention had turned to the moon, a huge winter moon, low to the horizon, and nearly as bright as the sun. He could see how she'd been distracted.

He straightened slightly, his back starting to complain from how hunched over he was, now leaning to rest his cheek on the top of her head and let her lean back to rest against his chest, bare despite the cool temperatures.

Len could still taste Sara on his lips when he let go of the fail safe and then......he blinked and looked around. He was in what looked like an empty warehouse with Barry Allen standing in front of him. "Didn't remember asking for a ride," he says snarkily as a call back to the first time they had been together.

He also remembers the last time he'd seen Barry and how upset he'd been and he keeps distance between the two of them. "Who told you?"

Lagertha looked over sharply at the new and uninvited company, lips parting in surprise at the intruder. Loki, and with questions she'd rather not answer. Still, one didn't ignore a god's question.

"Of course I will, as long as the Gods will it." Standing from her throne, she laced her fingers together in front of her. "But I wonder at what the cost will be, in the end."

"Ray. Three months after it happened. But it was Mick who figured out how to rescue you from the temporal vortex." Barry explained as he reached up and pulled his cowl down so he could see Len more clearly. It had been too long, way too long since he's seen him. He never thought he'd get to see him again if he was honest but then Mick Rory and Ray had come to him with hope in their eyes and an idea that just might work if Barry could run fast enough. And wouldn't you know it. He did. So now here they were, home on Earth in their time. Safe. Barry's eyes are stinging and he longs to reach out and touch the man, to feel that he's really and truly standing in front of him alive and whole.
