SECRET relationship; The fact that you're in a relationship with this person isn't public knowledge. Actually, no one knows about it except for the people involved. One of Jack's least favourite things was wet feet, and yet here he was, standing round the corner from Steve's place with his trainers and jeans both soaked up to his knees. It had seemed such sensible logic at the time. His brothers were starting to get nosy about where he was going, so he'd told them he was going to the library, headed in the right direction through the woods around their house, and then crossed through the stream, walking down it a little ways before climbing out and heading in a different direction. Most of his brothers were excellent hunters, but they also didn't care about him that much, their curiosity would lead them to follow his trail as far as they could until it either went somewhere unexpected, they got bored or it became too much effort - hence the stream.

He shoved his hands in his pockets, trying not to shiver as he watched the street, checking for anybody who might be watching him, waiting for the perfect moment to move. Paranoid? Maybe. Probably, even. But when you were the son of one of the area's grumpiest alphas, the very alpha who came to blows with other packs over territory all the time, you learned to exercise a lot of caution.

It had been a rather uneventful day when Steve was returning back home. The newest member of his pack was finally starting to get hang of things which were good. Especially now when other Alphas was starting to entrench on what he considered his territory. So far they had managed to stay away from open conflict. But then again he had also started to fall from a pup from one of the newer packs. Which weren't the most clever thing he could have done. But what could you do once feelings got involved. But he figured that as long as they weren't chased out of it, things could remain alright. Alas he didn't know the other Alpha enough to trust him.

As he arrived back home he picked up a weak but familiar smell. He stopped and looked around. He got a distinct feeling Jack was near. He figured that the other wolf may have seen him so to not wake suspicion he started walking up to the door, making sure it was left unlocked in case the other boy would bring himself to get on over.

Jack watched Steve approach, couldn't help but smile slightly at the way he stopped and looked around, knowing that the alpha had caught his scent. Jack's own sense of smell was pretty bad, being the runt of his pack meant that his own abilities were lacking in pretty much all areas, and while he sniffed the air, desperate to catch Steve's scent, he didn't manage it.

Once Steve had disappeared inside, he made one last quick check around for anybody else and darted over, smiling when he found the door unlocked. He slipped inside and closed it behind him, the tension leaking out of his shoulders now he was off the street.

He had expected Jack to come inside so when he closed the door behind him, Steve was already waiting. His stern face broke up into a small smile as he spotted Jack coming inside. Not giving a care, he walked up and gently touched his face so he could give him a kiss.

"Hey..." he said and then glanced down onto Jack's pants. "What'd you do to get that soaked?" he asked in a gentle tone, slightly concerned.

Jack leaned up to kiss him back, sighing contentedly. Home was a stressful, busy place, and being here was like a little piece of calm in his hectic life. Not to mention Steve didn't make him feel like a worthless runt, Steve made him feel cared for.

"Oh, uh..." he followed Steve's gaze down to the soaking hems of his jeans and smiled sheepishly "I sort of...waded through a stream a bit..."
