[Applejack wasn't sure what had gotten into the orchard that she had been tending, but it was so hot. Her hat was askew and the top buttons of her shirt were undone in hopes that she could cool off a little bit. She shook her head a bit as she leaned back against a wall and fanned her face with her hat.]

What in tarnation is goin' on here?

[She didn't think that it was that hot when she went outside to work today, but apparently she had been wrong. Shaking her head a bit she put her hat back on her head and continued on.

That is until she rounded a corner and nearly ran into him.]

I'm really sorry there, Sugarcube.

[Another day, another problem for the Avengers to solve. This time it was some sort of plant monster that had been terrorizing the area around Central Park. It didn't take them long to take care of it, but in the end, Toni ended up covered in some sort of pollen. Talk about giving someone a major allergy problem. It had even made it past the air filters that she had built into her armor.

Back at the tower, she sat in front of the bar trying to figure out why it suddenly got so hot in here. The room was at a comfortable temperature and she had on a pair of cutoff shorts and a tank top.]

Are you sure that the air conditioner is working properly, JARVIS?

[Of course she was also feeling a very different kind of heat, but she had learned to hide those urges when she was trying to solve a problem.]

[ She hadn't been the only one, but Steve had at least had the good sense to be checked out by a medic after they returned. Nothing showed up on the tests, though a sample of the pollen had been taken just in case. Thank God for his immune systems, he supposed.

Toni, to no one's surprise, had neglected such a check-in. Counting a little too much on her armor, something Steve both understood and found utterly frustrating to try and circumvent. Rather than argue the point then and there, he had waited until now to come, to find her, and see if he might persuade her out of earshot of the rest of the team.

The elevator gave a little tell-tale 'ding' before the door opened onto that floor, Steve stepping out soon after. ]

Toni?

[She sounded cheerful enough, but hearing his voice made something low in her burn even hotter and she had to close her eyes for a moment and take a deep breath to keep her control. The last thing she wanted to do was run over and jump him like some obsessed fan. She knew better than that.]

The air conditioning is working as it should, Ma'am.

[JARVIS' response made her swear softly under her breath as she stood up and walked behind the bar. Like always it was fully stocked for anything she might want to do.]

Care for a drink?

[Might as well offer while she was back here.]

If you've got one of those bottled waters, I won't say no.

[ She looks alright. He can't help looking her over with some measure of worry, though he works to keep it from his face. She doesn't like being fussed over, highly independent, and he can understand why. Even today, it takes a lot for a woman in business to be taken seriously, let alone a genius like Toni Stark. He's come to understand the snark isn't personal, the flippancy a shield no different from his own.

He worries anyway. She's a teammate, there's no other reason for it. So he watches to see if she wobbles when she walks, if there's any difference visible to the eye to give him cause to frog-march her downstairs if necessary. ]

Always.

[She always kept bottled water on hand. She knew that not all of her friends chose to drink and she wanted to be able to help them all out. She reached into the mini fridge under the bar and tossed it towards him.]

Catch.

[She didn't wobble when she walked, but there was a light sheen of sweat on her shoulders, but that could be explained by the workout that she just got while fighting the giant plant. She fixed herself a small drink and leaned against the bar as he came closer.]
