LOVE ON AN ADVENTURE meme Lucky you. For a while, you get to eschew a normal life and see life past your door; you're going on a quest! It could be for personal reasons, for fun, for profit, or to save the world as you know it. In all likelihood, it's the latter, given the natural order of things, but hopefully it's not. Whatever the case may be, you won't be going it alone, however. Whether it's just you and a partner or a true fellowship, you've got people to back you up. You may not all start out as the best of friends, that's true - still, the fires of potential life or death scenarios or the threat of losing your booty draw you closer together, and a friendship forms. With one member of your party, more than friendship grows between you. But wait, you have to defeat the dark lord, find the oldest wand, fight evil by moonlight, create a giant robot, or any other number of tasks. There's no time for this sort of nonsense! Actually, you may push them away because of the mission or due to past wounds that tie into said mission. Maybe, though, you can steal moments to get closer, let a romance blossom...or more. HOW to PLAY Comment with your character, preferences, and any other info - ie, keep it PG, etc. Even though I used a fantasy picture, don't feel constrained! In Harry Potter, they have to find a wand, in Supernatural, the Colt, in Avatar, they have to fight the Fire Lord, etc. Feel free to AU your character or include information about them. Reply to others.

Despite the years, despite raising three dragons, Dany's only ridden Drogon. It's not for lack of interest that she neglects Viserion and Rhaegal, it's merely priority. Learning to ride one dragon--and in turn, commanding Drogon to bend to her will--was a trying experience, and one she would rather avoid until she has more time to dedicate to the task. Preferably, when the Iron Throne is hers.

In the whirlwind of events leading up to her attack on the Lannisters, there was one occurrence she'd failed to anticipate: that one of her children would favor another. It seems almost fitting that the self-proclaimed King in the North would be the chosen one. A wolf and dragon? Rather ridiculous, truthfully; nevertheless, she's witnessed with her own eyes Rhaegal's slow acceptance of the man. A curiosity which prompted her to invite Jon down to the beach one day on a whim.

Tyrion encouraged their interaction. Regardless of his unwillingness to bend the knee, she still needs him as an ally during these times. Trying times for sure, considering so many of her allies have fallen thus far.

But a wolf and a dragon... perhaps that will be the winning combination.

"My dragons have very little tolerance for those who are not their mother," she says in greeting. Her hand smooths along Rhaegal's leathery snout. "Yet this one seems to tolerate you well enough. I haven't the slightest idea what you might've done to earn his favor, but I believe we can use that to our advantage, if you're willing."

If asked, Jon would have said he had never expected to be where he was. Former lord commander of the Night's Watch. The King in the North. Neither of them seemed like titles a man in his position should ever have bore and yet here he was. To top it all off he had traveled to Dragonstone to meet with the last Targaryen; the Mother of Dragons.

And somewhere in the process he'd gained the favor of one of her dragons.

The invitation to join Dany on the beach was one that Jon had accepted without too much hesitation, Davos's encouragement helping to ease any worries he might have. Like Tyrion, Davos was rather keen on finding a common ground between them all and wanted them to find a truce even if Jon was ever the stubborn young wolf.

Jon's steps halt on the steps as Dany speaks but his gaze is on the dragon, a fond look creeping into his gaze despite the hesitation.

"Nor do I, m'lady. It wasn't something I expected but I can think of worse paths that could have been taken," he admitted, finally taking the last few steps down until he was but a few feet away from Dany and Rhaegal. "You asked to see me?"

Rhaegal receives her touch willingly, leaning his head toward her so that she may continue rubbing the tough skin of his snout. He watches Jon, though. Slitted pupils like a cat's, his eyes unblinking despite the wolf's approach. He's calm, huffing only when Dany's hand stills as she turns her focus toward Jon as well.

"I did. You've witnessed me riding Drogon. I imagine your learnings have likewise taught you that the Targaryens were dragonriders." There is some preamble to this. Who in their right mind would willingly accept the task of becoming a dragonrider when it was not their birthright? A madman, that's who. In the distance, Drogon shrieks, as if in agreement. "It takes time, patience, and skill to tame one. Dedication to coax one into allowing you to mount it."

Dany doesn't miss the warmth in Jon's gaze. The very same look might as well reflect in her eyes, when she gazes upon one of hers. That look is what ultimately convinces her the endeavor will be worth it.

So with a gentle pat to Rhaegal's head, she steps closer to the wolf, linking her fingers together as she approaches.

"Consider my offer a gesture of goodwill. A bridge to link our forces if you succeed." His salvation, if the dead are truly coming. "You will learn to approach and mount Rhaegal. Should you succeed in such, I will allow you to ride him into battle by my side."
