APPRENTICE-SHIPPING From the moment we begin our lives, we're learning. It's imperative to surviving, to growing - don't walk in the shadows, it's dangerous, don't touch the fire, you'll be hurt. These days, most continue to hone this natural instinct with formal schooling, but that's certainly not the end all, be all of knowledge. If you go to school or not, if you have the opportunity or otherwise, you won't stop sharpening your mind after those formative years. That's just not the way our incredible brains work. You, specifically, have actually decided to something equally incredible: you want to really dedicate yourself to learning a skill, and what better way than an apprenticeship? Formal or informal, you're under someone's tutelage, absorbing everything they can teach, growing closer to them in the process... ...unfortunately, though, you've gained a little something extra with that bite from the fruit of knowledge. You've fallen for your mentor. Do you realize this pitfall immediately, or will you have to learn the hard way? Comment with your character, preferences, what role you'd like them to fill, and any information you'd like to include. The jingle in his head reminded him that a certain charge of his needed him. His heart did bleed for her. She had recently came to her power with nobody around to help her. So of course he had spent more time than he probably should. He wanted to teach her. After all a familair could only do as much. But also, he was feeling something more. Something he knew was forbidden. He could really sympatise with his own father. Alas he quickly orbed over to see what the matter was, if she needed healing or protection.

When Wyatt orbs over to the small apartment Rey called home. BB-8, the one eyed cat she had that happened to be her familiar, was curled up on her lap, offering support. Rey was on her couch, left arm in a make shift sling, and dried blood by her temple. A nasty fight with a demon who picked the wrong person to mess with. She should e called for Wyatt, but she didn't think her injuries were that bad. She's had worse.

The young witch never wanted these powers to begin with. She didn't want to be able to use telekinesis in any way, but she had no choice in the matter. At least she had Wyatt to help her so she wasn't completely alone. But as time passed something developed between them and...she didn't want to act on it. He was her guide, nothing more.

"I'm fine, I just need ice. " for her arm,, never mind the dried blood by her temple or that she feels exhausted.

He was shocked by the look of her. A fury burned in his chest against whoever had done this to her. He knew it wasn't particularly Whitelighter-like but he didn't care. He was still human and besides even the Elders had flaws.

"You need healing, not ice. Why didn't you call me earlier?" he asked as he walked up to her to check her injuries. It wasn't life threatening at least but still it was bad. He was slightly concerned about the sling. More so because that could have meant she went to a doctor which could bring about a lot of headache. He sat down next to her and raised his hand to heal the bruise on her temple. He had to first take a calming breath though cos healing was triggered by love not anger, so he had to get himself in the right mindset. Giving Rey time to stop him if she so desired.

"Because it's not as bad as me falling off my bike," falling from that and getting road rash was painful, more so than what she faced. The look on Wyatt's face though, that was something else. He wasn't pleased with her. She didn't make it easy on him, especially in the beginning when he was trying to convince her of what she was.

"I'm sorry for not calling you sooner, but I'm fine. Nothing's broken. " and no need to head to the doctor. She rode out most of the pain before calling him. She moved over a little, offering him more room to sit. She didn't push his hand away, letting him heal her. The warmth of his power making her feel at ease. The bruise and wound on her temple cleared up. All he had to do was he's her arm, maybe give her a lecture and then leave. He has other duties, other people to take care of.

Taking her reaction as a go flag, he continued on to heal her arm. The sling didn't like hospital made so it gave him a little reassurance. After he was finished healing her he gave her a long look.

"Rey... what happened? You must have been in a fight of some kind. And don't say you just tripped and fell. Talk to me, I'm here for you y'know," he replied in a soft tone.

Aching muscles were soothed and any fractures were healed. Rey flexed her fingers and slowly rotated her wrist. Better. There wasn't any strain, pull or pain when she did those movements. Once Wyatt was done, she took off her sling. She made it from old dish towels. Better than nothing and better than going to the hospital.

"I wasn't looking for trouble. I was jogging through the park and, a demon tried to grab me..." and well, as Wyatt could see, only one of them was alive.

"I didn't think I would need help. It was one demon..." a powerful one at that but no need to say it out loud. "Besides, you make enough house calls...I don't want to take up your time. " he had other charges to help. Other things to do like help out his mother or aunts.

"Of course. I don't blame you whatsoever. I know how demons works. They attack on their own initiative. I know you're strong Rey and can fight back against them. It's just that if you had called me earlier you wouldn't have to suffer as much pain. See where I'm going?" he responded softly and brushed away a strand of hair from her face. "I do care about you Rey. Your pain is my pain, remember?" he then added feeling a tingle of embarrassment and so he kept his hands to himself. He was aware that there was demons which required a bit more than just powers to vanquish and that it was hard for witches without powerful defensive abilities to keep safe all the time. Nor could you expect them too. It was those whom worried him the most though.

"Yes..." fighting together would've made more sense than her trying to do it on her own. But at the same time, she wasn't a weak person. She knew how to fight, knew what areas to hit to deliver the most damage, but when it came to magic...she was still learning. There was so much to learn, and being an orphan, it wasn't like she could go to her family's own book of spells to look up information.

Which was why she tried to learn as much from Wyatt as she could. She enjoyed their time together to the point where...she missed him. But, he could do so much better..and she? Well, she was still trying to keep things together in her own life.

What surprised her was how he reached out to brush away a strand of her hair from her hair. The sweet gesture made her cheeks turn slightly pink too.

"I'll do better next time, promise."

"I'm sure you will. You're still learning but I'm confident that the more you learn the better you will be at the craft. If there's anything else you want from me, just ask," he spoke softly. Perhaps he was getting too close. He was a Whitelighter, not a teacher. Rey should be in the Academy and learn how to get better. But than again, perhaps she was too old by now. It didn't matter to him though. He can learn her the ropes.

There was a slow nod from Rey, rolling her once sore shoulder and felt something pop back into place. It didn't hurt at least. Her hands went to petting BB-8. There was a part of her that thought about giving up on magic. It was something she didn't want, but that then she would have to stop seeing Wyatt.

Really that was a lose-lose situation.

"I will, but in the mean time...did you want something to eat? Drink?" Did he want water or anything? Or did he have to leave?

[life after the war seems to come to a crawl, the peace nearly smothering and the days brighter. perhaps it's just how manakete perceive time, although Nah still has many questions about how her human half would influence her growth over the centuries. or maybe she's just adjusting after a lifetime of constant strife.

after a period of traveling and seeing what the world has to offer, the familiar loneliness of her childhood begins to creep up behind her. most of her friends had gone down paths away from each other. her mother and father are raising this timeline's Nah. no one needs a big pink dragon spitting fire at evil things anymore; it's almost as if she'd lost her sense of purpose.

so naturally, she makes her way to Valm to look for Tiki. even Nah isn't quite sure what she's hoping for. she's still a baby by manakete years, isn't she? surely it'd be fine to ask for some guidance, or a few decades of apprenticeship, from Naga's Voice herself.

and Nah does find her... sleeping, because of course. it's still daytime. she prods Tiki's arm.]

Tiki... er, Tiki? Darn, maybe I should come back later...

[ When Tiki took her leave of the new friends she made, it was with the knowledge that she would not see many of them again. Though it was lonely, she knew it would be greedy to expect any of them to give too much of their life so that Tiki could have company that would, to her, last for no more than a blink...with a few exceptions. They had lives to live. She had her responsibilities as The Voice to tend to.

On some days, said responsibilities amounted to what looked like sleeping in, but they were still responsibilities. Definitely important. She was meditating in the presence of the Mila Tree, after all. Although, really, her sleeping was just that more often than it was a divine experience with Mila or her mother, Naga. Still, few would think Tiki's sleep was anything less than of divine importance.

Divine isn't entirely wrong. Whether because of some innate divinity or through sheer experience, Tiki looks unnaturally well groomed despite having been asleep for who knows how long. What isn't divine is the grumbling. ]

Mrrr. Mar-Mar, please. Just one more week. Just...Zzz.

[ She reaches out to push 'Mar-Mar' away, except instead of her hand meeting a man's chest, it boops a certain short girl's nose. ]

"Yeah, I'd like something to drink if you got anything," Wyatt responded. He wasn't in a hurry after all. If something was going on, he would know about it for sure.
