CAMPING MEME

No, we don't mean video game camping. We're talking getting out in nature and away from the rat race for a while. Rough it, spend time with people you like, go swimming in a lake, go hiking, cook over a campfire, whatever. Post your top level with some details of what kind of camping your character would do and run free from there!

LOCATION/TYPE OF CAMPING

1. WOODS Your classic. Have a good time out with the trees and nature, just don't get into any trouble!
2. DESERT Not everyone's cup of tea, but there's something beautiful about the calm desert at night.
3. "GLAM"PING "I'm in a five star luxury hotel outside yellowstone national park, it's fucking camping if i say so." You're pampered and you know it.
4. CABIN You rented a cute little cabin for a week and you're intent on having a good time in slightly more comfort.
5. CITYSCAPE What? Look, maybe you don't have much time to go out in the middle of nowhere. Put up a tent in your backyard, on the roof of your building, whatever.
6. MISC Did we miss something? Well, don't call the cops, just make your own way! Maybe you have a cute little trailer, maybe you've set up a love nest in the back of your station wagon. Whatever.

SITUATION

1. EVERYTHING'S GREAT You're having a great time! Friends, family, sight-seeing, hiking, the works.
2. MILD DISASTER "Someone has a marshmallow stuck in their hair, possibly on fire." Your mild hitches in plans. Don't get hurt.
3. WEATHER ISSUES It's pouring rain or super hot or raining ash from the sky because your dumb ass camped near a volcano. What do you do?
4. MID-LEVEL DISASTER "You're boning in your tent and then there's a bear outside." Yikes. Be careful. Hope it just grabs your food and bails. Anyway, bigger problems that you can probably get out of okay.
5. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE For your delicate glamping flowers. THE HOTEL IS OUT OF ICE. YOU STEPPED IN A PUDDLE. YOUR FOIE GRAS ISN'T PERFECT.
6. INTENSE DISASTER "Jason Voorhees coming to get you at summer camp." Don't get fucking murdered, nerds. Try to keep your cool in this high-level disaster.
7. PARTY Now this is what we came here for. Throw a huge bash in the woods with your best bros! Just don't burn anything down.
8. LOST IN THE WOODS Well, we can't help you here. Maybe be more careful next time? Hope you brought your compass and also know how to use it!
9. HEADING HOME You're tired, grumpy, covered in bug bites, and hungry for something that isn't marshmallows or hot dogs. How is the drive home?
10. MISC Ghosts? Scooby Doo shenanigans? Whatever else you want, go for it!

"I know where we're going, trust me!" A water elemental and an android get lost in the woods... almost sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it seemed that Marie's stubborn insistence that their borrowed RV was in this direction made it a reality. If anything, she didn't want to rely on Silke, but at this point it seemed the android was going to have fuel to tease her with.

[Feel free to explain to the angel exactly why they're in the middle of nowhere incinerating marshmallows.]

Camping. Who doesn't love camping? Feeling like a little boy again, huddled in a tent, and roasting marshmallows over the campfire with your friends while sharing experiences of adventure and listening to scary stories.

Well, as it turns out, most of the other campers are not at all thrilled with Katsura's attempts to stir up conversation or any fun activities, instead just glaring at him whenever they turn away from their boxes of belongings or rudely showing him away from the barrel with the fire to warm their hands.

The marshmallow he's managed to obtain through no easy feat is starting to smell vaguely of gasoline, and Katsura wisely deduces that perhaps hobo campfires are not the best place to cook anything.

It's still extremely rude that Shaggy Rope-Belt-san seems more interested in picking bread crumbs out of his pants than listening to any of his stories, though. It's just like middle school all over again, them fashionable cool kids deciding they're too good for the company of an imaginative nerd.

Slightly disheartened and huffy, Katsura retreats back to his own tent. Which is not his and not a tent, most likely, and is either something that Gintoki managed to score in such a short time, or one of Elizabeth's old sheets strewn out over sticks secured between crates and junk in the back of the alleyway.

"Do you suppose he saw what his ship did to your house?" he inquires as calmly as he can under such distressing circumstances. "He did pay for the damages last time."

Well, yes. Sakamoto Tatsuma had drunkenly drove right into Yorozuya again, having paid for his buddies getting wasted enough to not notice it until after he left, and while Otae agreed to let Kagura into her house, she absolutely refused to take in two useless old men who were to blame for their own predicament in the first place, according to her words. So here they were, in one of Edo's tent-and-box camps, making a life for themselves. Ish.

That may have something to do with the fact that no one here is actually camping. Gintoki really just wants his freaking house back. He wants a roof over his house. Why did Kagura get to go live in an actual house but they're kicked out onto the streets?! Not fair! Not his wish to get his house destroyed by some drunken pubes-head!

So he's curled up under the sheet, practically pouting, hands tucked under his armpits to keep them warm.

"If he didn't, I'm gonna chase him across the stars and make him pay."

That's one drunken pubes-head calling another drunken pubes-head a drunken pubes-head, even though Katsura thinks their hair feel more like woolly sheep that you want to sink your fingers in.

With sympathy, he offers Gintoki the petroleum-vaped marshmallow on a stick.

"In the meantime, we should probably try harder to fit in," he muses. "Can you grow a beard?"

[why the hell had Osomatsu agreed to go camping? he's the type of guy who likes being warm and cozy in a house, not trapped in a small tent in the great outdoors. the wind whips past the thin fabric, and the rainfall is heavy. he's worried that the tent will be swept away at this rate.

but this was supposed to be a bonding experience, with Gintoki! and Osomatsu had jumped at the chance because they were bros kind of! he should have thought this through better, but he never thinks things through. he just acts on impulse.

he huddles in the corner of the tent, legs drawn up to his chest, with his red sleeping bag wrapped around his shoulders. and he's whining]

It's so cold! Why can't we go home?

_{[ With summer here, Aikuro was able to break away from the school for awhile, and what better way than to spend it with one of his bros... a bro-bro that he just adored lavishing. You couldn't tell him why; maybe Aikuro sensed the particular kind of sadness Gintoki had, and seeing him happy made him happy in return.
Kondo & Milly has gone home, he assumed, to their respectable worlds and in that regard, Aikuro was happy for them, but felt like he had lost something treasured. It had been awhile since it happened, and Gintoki and Aikuro never really talked about it.

Gintoki had been in charge of setting up their campsite while Aikuro prepared food. A cigarette hangs loosely over his mouth as he cooks over an open fire grill (look, it came out of his car) turquoise eyes focused on their meal behind shielding aviators. The sunlight was going down by now-- it was past dinnertime. ]}
