[ He waits for IGNIS to silence the klaxons, mind racing. As soon as the wailing cuts off, he's left with the silence ringing in his ears, hardly any better. Think, he has to think. Doing what IGNIS has suggested is probably the smartest course of action. Head to the stasis chambers, barricade himself in, wait for the rest of the crew to get back and they can all deal with the creature together.
Except... Except there's no guarantee: that the thing can't get into the stasis chambers, that the crew won't walk into the ship without any idea the thing's there and all get killed, that the rest of the crew's even alive to come help him at all. For all he knows, they might be dead on the derelict station. He has to assume it's just him and IGNIS now, no rescue coming. Even if he sent a distress call to Weylan-Yutani now, it'd take months for them to get here.
