[Remus is better, for lack of any other term. He isn't amazing, but he's begun to look a bit less like the full moon has been working overtime, which is something. Having the Room of Requirement seems to have done him some good, if only as a haven to which he can escape when everything else starts to feel a bit too much. He's alone more often than not in the comfortable study that the Room provides, but he's managed to accept the fact that he's done about all that he can do try to prove to Regulus how serious he is. Now, all that's left is to be patient and hope for the best.

He's curled into the corner of one of the couches today, nose buried in a book. There's a fire going, and he almost feels like he could nod off if he's not careful. The study is quiet, but he welcomes the solitude, especially today.]

[ Regulus doesn't know how he feels any more. He went from devastated to angry to morose to tired to angry again to desperate to... yeah, he doesn't know. But he spends a lot of time in the Room of Requirement alone, putting the pieces back together. He wants things to be better: coming back from winter break with nothing to grasp onto so that he could recover had been hell, but he'd weathered it. Somehow.

That's a couple of months past now though of course and now everyone is being romantic and it just pisses him off. He just wants to be alone. So he heads to the Room when no one is paying attention to him, intent on reading or studying or just sleeping until he feels any better. But of course he won't be able to be alone.

A few weeks ago, he would have gone out again. Today he just pauses to think for a long moment before he takes a deep breath and moves to the sofa that Remus is on, settling next to him somewhat primly. At least he's not smashed into the other side: their knees are almost touching like this. Almost. ]

[A month ago, he might have perked up like a hopefully puppy, still holding onto the love for his master even after ages of neglect. He'd reached a point though, where he'd realized how pathetic he must look. He'd done his groveling, and his bartering, and his begging; if Regulus was going to forgive him, it would be on his own terms, and no amount of sad moon eyes would speed up the process. In a way, Remus had gone through his own period of mourning, and now that the phases have run their course, he seems a bit more like himself again.

When Regulus enters the room, he looks up of course, but his expression only registers mild surprise.]

Hey.

[He places a finger in his the book to mark his place, watching as Regulus approaches approaches to join him on the couch. Almost relaxed, but not quite. He doesn't miss the way their knees nearly touch, but he keeps that hyper-awareness to himself. That charged little space between them – where the slightest shift of his leg would leave them touching – isn't something he's willing to risk losing by drawing Regulus' attention to it.]

Not sure I've ever been so thankful for this place. It's a nightmare out there.

[ It's better like this. Regulus had hated the simpering, desperate, begging Remus - it had been pathetic, and pathetic wasn't something that suited him in the least. In any case he seems fine with this Remus, as he nods slightly to the greeting. He's quiet but not cold, which is an important distinction. He looks over at Remus, nodding once more before he actually manages a crooked little smile that's genuine rather than put on. ]

It's bloody awful is what it is. I can't believe how ridiculous people are being. I feel like tossing half of them into the lake. [ An unkind sentiment perhaps, but a genuine one. Finally he sighs, leaning back into the cushions. ] I'm tired of it. All of it. I wish they'd all just take a step back and calm down. I suppose that's what people our age are like, though. Besotted and ridiculous.

[ It's wry. As he settles back more, their thighs barely touch - it's unclear whether it's an accident or not, but in any case he doesn't flinch away. ] Sorry to ruin your quiet.

[Remus gives a light chuckle, closing the book fully and setting it down on the neat pile of his school things just next to the sofa. If he's honest, he's had similar urges when it comes to the frenzy that seems to have taken over the majority of their peers; he'd nearly upended a jug of pumpkin juice over James' head earlier when yet another tone-deaf first year had shown up to serenade Lily Evans. Luckily, her stinging hex had reached him first, so Remus was spared the bother.]

Oh no, whatever shall I do? [There's a small smile playing at his lips – still a somewhat cautious expression when he's around Regulus, but more frequent as of late – his tone playful as he sits up to stretch. The movement causes his back to pop delightfully, and his leg ends up pressed more full against Regulus'. As he relaxes back against the cushions, he doesn't move it back again.]

Let them have their day, I suppose. They can't be young and silly forever, and at least we've got a place to hole up until people come to their senses again.

Cas had really screwed up this time.

How many times did Dean have to tell him not to go off on his own stupid missions without letting people know what he was up to first? How many times would Dean have to tell him to at least run it past them before doing something stupid, life-risking, or potentially world destroying? But it seemed like Cas just couldn't be stopped. He'd gotten his taste of free will, and, damn it, he'd never ask for help until it was too late ever again.

Dean got mad at him. He couldn't help it, not that it made it remotely better for everyone else involved, but at least it made Dean feel better to get it out, after all giving Cas the silent treatment hadn't done much good. So he'd yelled at him, and Cas had yelled back.......sort of, and the only reason the fight hadn't turned into punches exchanged was that Sam had elbowed in between and separated them before it could get any worse.

That stupid, stupid, stupid angel dick. Like it wasn't bad enough he'd known where the thing they had to fight was, he'd gone out there all macho avenging angel to his fallen brethren and blown his grace on it. Worse still, he could have been killed. Now Dean had to babysit him just to stop him running off and getting himself chewed up and spat out all over again, while in the meantime Sam had gone out hunting the monster alone. Dean couldn't trust Cas to stay put, and the entire thing just made Dean restless and agitated.

He stabbed his piece of pie for the umpteenth time. It no longer resembled pie at all, but a bloody, cherry red mess spread out across the plate, like roadkill on a highway.
