{ rays of gold filter the sun's blessings onto the afternoon glow, and the flowers with their nectar-scent are all across the meadow. hyacinth and wild thistle, all grow under the kiss of daphne's palms and the forest her pillow where she laid her head to rest. awake from her slumber with heavy eyes still full of sleep, the river calls her, to rejuvenate and ruminate in the calm of the day. this river, which leads into her father the river-god's dwelling, is where she feels most at home, interconnected with all the waters and all the water spirits.

birdsong and wind are the only voices in the silence as she sits perched on a riverside rock with her feet submerged in her water, fit into a gown of some sorts, a garment of ivory taken covertly from a gathering of bathing maidens (in exchange, a gathering of fruits tied with milkweed are left in its place to express her gratitude), now beset with dried leaves and berries in her hair. flowers drift on the water's surface, wet petals glistening as she stirs ripples in the water. the meadow is just a few paces away, likely rife with the secret heartbeats of forest wildlife, but in her solitude she finds no stir from any woodland creatures. }
