Ancient Rome

Your character is now in Ancient Rome! Most famous city of the Ancient Western world. All roads lead there and now they're here too. Roll the RNG and find out what your character is up to! Or don't and just pick your own, I don't care.

Options!
1. Colosseum Games: Gladiator matches! Fights to the death! Chariot races! Naval Battles! Wild animal fights! Are you there to watch and cheer on your favorite fighter? Or are you one of the attractions, fighting or racing for the crowd's approval?

2. Senate: Debate with your fellow Senators about the fate and laws of the Finest City in the World. Democracy in action! Okay not really. Or is there a dictator that needs a good stabbing? A conspiracy to concoct? Friends, Romans, Countrymen!

3. Party: After a long day of whatever it was you were doing, everyone likes a good party to relax, right? Bring on the slaves with the wine and food! Eat, drink and be merry! There might even be an orgy around here somewhere, and don't forget to visit the Vomitorium if you get full. (Or not. Ew.)

4. War: You fight for the Emperor, and the Emperor wants more lands added to the Empire! See foreign lands, meet interesting people! And then kill them and subjugate them under Roman rule. But hey, they're getting roads and civilization out of the deal so it's all good, right?

5. Roman Provinces: You live in one of the provinces, not in the city itself. Maybe you were conquered recently, or maybe you've gotten used to this whole Being Roman thing and you like having roads and aqueducts and all that around. And really, the taxes aren't so bad, right?

6. Slave Market: Out shopping for a new addition to your household? Or maybe you're about to go on the auction block, waiting for a Citizen to decide to purchase you.

7. Choose your own: Mix and match or come up with your own idea. You're a free citizen of the Roman Empire, I shouldn't have to do all the thinking for you.

[ endless possibilities! he could be a soldier in the midst of a campaign, a banker in rome, a vigneron in the provinces! maybe he's still an assassin, maybe he's hosting a party, or browsing the slave market. tl;dr i'm easy, come at me. ]

01.
Q had been invited to watch the games. While he himself didn't support it, he was still was able to enjoy the place in the box that was reserved for the elite. It was covered and away from most of the din in the crowd, with their loud roars. He would rather be away with the scholars and study with the engineers. His host announced that they would be parading favorites for them to choose to decide to bet on.

03.
It had been a long week. Q had to be wrestled away from the deep bowels of his labs where he had been working away on newer and newer engineering feats to attend a party. His friends had tried to convince him with promises of slaves, wine, and food. When none of those seemed to tempt him, he was bodily hauled away and made to drink a few flagons of wine so that he would be relaxed enough upon arriving at the party. By the time they arrived, Q was shocked at how many people were already within the throes of pleasure with each other.

06 - Option A
A cat was well enough of a companion. But when Moneypenny insisted that Q had someone to help run his household, he begrudgingly made his way down to the slave market. Perhaps someone to just keep his home neat and have a dinner ready when he returned at the end of the day.

06 - Option B
Q swallowed thickly as he approached the auction block. At least he wasn't thrown into the gladiator ring for a gory death. Perhaps there would be someone to purchase him and set him back on a boat to Breton. Then he could go home and be done with this nightmare. So caught up in his mind was he, that Q nearly missed the call that he'd been sold. His head snapped up and looked at his new...he swallowed, his new master.

[General or governor of one of the Eastern provinces, probably Egypt because of course he wants to be in control of Alexandria.]

( A daughter of a respectable noble family who is a somewhat high ranking soldier for her age and regularly participates in the Colosseum games to get attention. She is a-okay with the hedonistic Roman lifestyle and puts zero effort into hiding her love for noblewomen. )

[Does the Bringer of Rain want to fight with Nasir in the arena (not against him cause let's be real here about Nasir's chances) or do something that doesn't involve killing? Is that even possible?]

[Look at our choices, Nasir, look at our canon. We do nothing without killing.

But yeah, that sounds good. It could be fun to play a more early canon Spartacus. We could have them fighting. Or handwave the fight-y part and focus more on them conversing afterwards, maybe? The spectacle is over and they aren't truly enemies. Alternatively, my mind comes up with the idea of the rebellion going a bit better than it did in history, and them infiltrating Rome to gather intel. Pretend to be Roman filth for a while.]

Either it's them talking after and Nasir is grumpy cause he didn't sign up for being a gladiator when his master got mad at him and sold him off or they're infiltrating and imagine if Nasir is posing as a prosperous trader with Spartacus as his slave bodyguard just for a role reversal. Syrian merchant immigrant with hot body slave win/win except for Agron.]

[Clearly nobody is going to be expecting Spartacus to be posing as a slave. See, it is a flawless plan.

Shit, flip a coin or something, cause I am super down for either scenario. It would be cute to have Bringer of Rain Spartacus give tips to Nasir. But also, plotting the downfall of Rome would be great.]

Nasir had walked the streets of Rome but a handful of times, while accompanying his not so dearly departed dominus. He'd been impressed by its power then. The same held true now, only this time he carried with him the determination to overthrow it. If only he'd stop being convinced that every person who looked at him saw through his disguise.

A man who'd known nothing but slavery posing as a Syrian merchant? Agron was right. This was madness. But as one of the few rebels with an easily hidden brand, Nasir was a logical choice.

Nasir paused at a sparsely populated corner to catch his bearings. "It has changed since last I walked these streets." In other words he had no fucking clue where he was going.

Or how not to be deferential to Spartacus. The tone of disdain so frequently used for slaves did not come so readily to him.

[Nothing specific. There is always the option of something that slots into canon or a deviance from it.]
