You have done something unspeakable to the people closest to you. How did this come to be, and how will you make amends?


Instructions

Post with your character with their name, series, and whether you're the betrayer, the betrayed, or simply leave it blank! Then, either make up your own scenario to your liking, or use our prompts (RNG totally optional) and go wild!

(Example: for organization's sake, denote b3+2 where you killed someone and are trying to hide it or r5+3 for a situation where you side-hopped and now want nothing more than to make things right, so that people know at a glance whether you're betraying or being redeemed and what you did.)

betrayal; you've turned your back on everything you once stood for

1) you're innocent. it's not your fault, but they can never know. maybe you're protecting someone. maybe you're being blackmailed. whatever the case, it's your dark secret.
2) you're hiding. you've done something terrible, but no one knows it yet. how far will you go to bury what you've done for good?
3) you're uncertain. everything is in place now, but nothing's been set into motion yet. maybe it's not too late to turn back. or is it?
4) you're slipping. you thought you could change. maybe for a while you even managed to. but now you find yourself falling back to your old ways, and everyone around you is at risk.
5) you're reacting. they betrayed you first. you're not in the wrong. they deserve this. they brought this upon themselves. you're not really betraying anyone if they pushed first.

redemption; you've done something that can never be forgiven

1) you're trapped. they caught you red-handed, or maybe you turned yourself in. now those you betrayed are free to face you one by one and have their revenge.
2) you're false. this whole betrayal thing isn't working out quite the way you'd hoped. maybe if you play your cards just right, you'll be able to get your old life back.
3) you're selfless. whatever forced your hand to begin with doesn't matter anymore. you'll destroy yourself and play the role of a villain to the very end if that is what it takes to make things right.
4) you're lost. what you did was wrong, and you know that now. you can never be sorry enough, and you've lost your way. all you want to do is find home. won't anyone out there show you the way?
5) you're tortured. you have to make amends for what you've done. you have to. the thought consumes you, possesses you. you have to find them, help them. but after what you've done, will they even want to see you again?

Nathan's definitely tried to make amends but well.. as the Indonesian says, you don't mess with Eddy Raja. Not even once, unfortunately. Tightening his muscles, he hears some noise in the background. A car, a helicopter? Whatever it is, it's loud and it's making him nervous because the chance of there being even more back-up is present.]

[To be honest, Xemnas doesn't even recall the event that's propelled him so far in the past. All he knows is that if he had a heart, he would have been angry than he can remember being in all the years of his life (that he can recall). He had been so near his goal, only to be catapulted backwards in time. But it doesn't matter. He has betrayed once. He can do so again, and it's child's play to work his way into Ansem's castle.

Long he has watched and waited, as the trappings of a betrayal grow up around the castle, never knowing that the hooded man - maddening and helpful by turns - in the basement is planning a betrayal of his own.

He need only wait until the right moment to take over Xehanort's life. From there, he can rebuild his Organization, rework matters to remove his failings and this time he will not fail to attain his Kingdom Hearts. But first... the matter of his double, and in a show of 'lucidity' he has asked that Xehanort come to him on this, the night that would have been his greatest triumph. The pieces are in order at last and he grows so very weary of this facade.]

[His deal? Maybe he's just looking out for himself for once, after finally realizing how they'd all been holding him back - been using him - all this time. Well, he doesn't need them. He's not gonna be the first one to get stabbed in the back, that's for damn sure.]

[In the end, he doesn't say any of this; he just leans back against the wall and checks his watch amid another puff of smoke.] I ain't got time for this. What part of "get outta here" don't you get?

but he's not the only one hearing those sounds. eddy glances away briefly, toward the source of an engine in the jungle drawing closer - but don't start getting thoughts, drake, because it's brief just as before. eddy's attention is soon focused back on the man who screwed him over, a smirk curling his mouth that screams that only bad things are in drake's future. bad things that eddy will more than enjoy having a hand in. ]

[the snap just causes Chell to stitch her eyebrows together as her frown deepens. at the mention of her 'friend' she casts a look towards PotaDOS who is rattling off something about Wheatley being a moron or something to that extent.

there's another shake of the head and she sighs, rolling back her shoulders as she places the portal device down on the ground despite auto-tuned protests coming from the potato attached to it.

she's being stubborn, sure, but she has a plan all on her own. she's tired of revenge. the last time she sought revenge against an angry AI it went horribly wrong, so perhaps she could try for another tactic.

Chell stands, raising her hands up slightly as she shakes her head again, as though to say she has nothing planned, or at least there were not plots on her end. she lowers her arms to her side and looks back up at him.]

He'll at least honor the invitation, but he will be sure to tell the man he has no need of his prophecies, as well. So he descends to the man, and soon he finds himself standing with that man, expression only showing minor disappointment.]

[ when he was young, he'd been taken in by Ansem the Wise. he was nothing more than an anomaly that was given kindness, and he grew in the years that passed, watching and gaining interest in the scientists that worked by his psuedo-father's side. when Ienzo was found, he'd looked after him as much as he could, almost like an older brother. his actions seemed noble, but everyone saw something... quite right. people were quick to call him a little too mature for his age, when he was young. people were even quicker to shut him out, not quite understanding that the more they did, the more they were sealing possible doors to a better future.

instead, he found himself back with the scientists, hanging in back rooms, reading over experiments and cleaning as he trained with a blade to keep Radiant Garden safe. his interest was mild as he stood by Even, until Xehanort came.

there was definitely something different, but the young swordsman found far more interest in Xehanort's experiments than others. why?

well, not even Riku could say. or, rather, wouldn't. when asked, he wouldn't say, barely spoke if it wasn't to Xehanort himself.

for good reason. perhaps it was intuition--but he had a feeling that Xehanort was more destructive than everyone liked to think, and he was not willing to let destruction fall to his home. keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. he won't let this happen.

he's the only one in the laboratory now, even though Braig, Dilan, Even, Aeleus, and Ienzo should also be here. as the door opens, he turns. ]

So, going to make this real simple for you to understand, pick up the portal gun and solve the bloody test.

[This is a bad idea. Not just bad, but it's wrong. And she knows it. Kinda stupid. She's past this. Both she and her sister are, and she feels bad dragging her into it, but it's not like it can be any other way. Even though Tallahassee's proven on more than one occasion that he'd throw himself in the way of danger to protect Little Rock, there have been too many close calls to ignore the feeling of inevitability in her gut, more than enough to make her nervous and wanna run.

But she doesn't want to cut ties, not really.

Which is why she hasn't told Little Rock how she feels, and why she's sitting in the driver seat of their latest truck, both hands on the steering wheel and the keys in her lap. It was easily slipping out of bed without waking Columbus, almost too easy, and the sun's only just rising, but she's wide awake. Somehow it's easier to think here than it was in bed, here with her foot hovering over the gas pedal even though the engine wasn't even on. But it could be, if she wanted it to be.
