looking for something dumb to do
for all your fake-engaged & fake-married needs
Sometimes it's easy to tell your special someone how you feel. Sometimes it's convenient to show your eternal intention to be by their side forever. And sometimes you just need someone to take to reunions so you can pretend you have your shit together enough to have figured out the marriage thing you keep hearing so much about. Thankfully, you've found someone else to pretend with you.
And there's definitely a 100% chance no feelings will wind up being involved.
HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character; include preferences & other information you find necessary
- Reply to others who have also done the thing
- Use the below prompts & ideas either by picking yourself or using RNG
- Or just make up your own IT'S YOUR FAKE SPECIAL DAY YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT
PROMPTS
A. Fake Engaged
1) "Tell me more; tell me more!" - Someone asks ‘oh how did you meet?’ or ‘how did you fall in love’ and you told them the real story of how we actually met except also you said you love me what is even happening I don't.
2) "...oh. OH." - We’ve been dating forever, and when you caught the bouquet at our friend’s wedding I jokingly proposed but everyone thought we were serious what do?
3) "Happy birthday!" - Remember when we were in high school and we swore that if we were still single at 30 we’d marry each other. Want to just tell people that happened.
4) "Over it 110%" - My ex just invited me to their wedding and I need you to be my fake fiancee date so it doesn't look like I've spent the last few years failing to get over them.
5) "Also I never call." - It’s my younger siblings wedding and my mother won’t shut up about how I’m going to die alone quick put on a ring this is a good plan.
6) "I won't say it, oh no." - We’re only engaged to get our parents off our backs and you’re in love with somebody else so feel free to hook up with them idc I’m not jealous who does that even.
7) "My whole life is thunder." - You need a plus-one for your sibling’s wedding after so I’m going as a favor but there’s been a misunderstanding and now your whole family thinks we’re engaged.
8) "Welcome to the family!" - You broke off your engagement with your long-time partner who you were supposed to bring home to meet your family so now you need me to pretend to be them.
9) “We’re getting fake engaged for [insert reason here]” - Just go for it, okay.
B. Fake Married
1) "Tell me more; tell me more!" - The same as 1 above; why are people always asking married couples how they met so rude.
2) "Is this what happened in Budapest?" - We’re assigned to this mission in which we have to pretend to be a married couple, but spoiler alert I'm actually really in love with you ahahaha fuck.
3) "Totally according to plan" - This is an arranged marriage and we definitely started out hating each other but now I’ve been falling in love with you and I don’t think it’s mutual.
4) "Just get in the taxi" - Someone important’s dying wish is to see me get married and you’re an old family friend I ran into at the airport on my way to visit him so hey let’s pretend we're married.
5) "Shake the glitter off your clothes now" - We were both drunk when you proposed to me in Vegas and I accidentally posted about it across social media so now we’re hungover and trying to figure out this mess because everyone's assuming we went to a chapel together did we even?
6) "This looks bad." - For some v. legit reasons you've been fake married for a while but now? Now there's someone you really wanna marry for real real. How do.
7) “We’re getting fake married for [insert reason here]” - Just seriously, okay.
