Shang Tsung's island, being a place between realms, was the perfect location for the Mortal Kombat tournament. As it was, his island had many amenities, and of course he would not deny the chance for impromptu fighting by having a bar for combatants to get drunk at.
For the time being, Earthrealm was being afforded a round of rest while Outworld attempted to conquer another realm, but that didn't mean Raiden was off the hook. Earthrealmers sometimes worked for other realms, and as its protector he still had to be present to make sure nothing happened which might impact the realm itself.
There were plenty of realms present as he walked into the dark, seedy place. He was not a fan of it, but Tarkatans and Lin Kuei were present in large numbers and in various levels of intoxication. There was bound to be trouble and so he ignored the glares from both sides of the room and approached an open seat at the bar.
