last_juniberry: listening (006 // you're standing there so small)

[ Allura's thoughts race with what-ifs and plans that run through several different alphabetical systems in the time Shiro takes in the view in front of him, but her mind and her heart are appeased, if only by watching Shiro in his unguardedness and boyish wonder.

She doesn't feel sadness in seeing him wear her father's armor. An armor isn't meant to be a shroud, but to be used by a warrior. Allura is certain that her gentle father-king would approve of her decision. Her heart is glad to see it being used again.

Her own eyes widen as she sees the barrier dissolve. How many times had she sneaked out to find comfort by her father's tomb, or even pray to the lion to tell her what she is to do, when she couldn't make out its purr in her mind? Never had the barrier come down for her, much less for the lion to have moved a hair. But her quintessence, coupled with that of Shiro's brings the great lion to life.

She follows in Shiro's footsteps this time, and soon as both of them are inside, the great head closes around them and its interiors light up, humming and thrumming, not quite like an engine, but more like a great creature. Allura is certain that the lion is already telling him where to go and what to do next. She can no longer hear its rumbling and purring, as that communication is now exclusive to its paladin. She could be jealous, but her spirit dances at the thought that all her waiting had not been in vain.

And the fight starts now.

Soon as Shiro finds himself at the controls, Galra alarms blare loudly around the castle. ]
