But when she hears him yawn, and pulls herself just barely away enough to be able to look down at him and see his peaceful, sleepy, smiling face, she can't bring herself to take him away from that. Not when she knows what haunts him when he tries to sleep and the things he has to keep at bay. Not when this is her last chance to be there for him while he tries to rest before he goes, before he's out of her reach.
So she takes a deep breath, sighs, and continues playing with his hair. She doesn't know if she'll sleep, herself. But she'll be glad to be there as he does.
Even if it is really comfy here and warm in his arms and the way he's gently touching her is almost hypnotizing and... maybe just in case... ]
