If someone's been dead long enough, bringing them back to life will only result in a shambling corpse good for only basic tasks. Total brain death means no traces of personality. However, if I'm present right as the death occurs, I can raise them without much issue.

Though, if the body is a mess prior to raising, it's better to leave it alone. Making a new body or fixing one that's mangled is too much work to do for the hell of it.
