Carrying your whole life with you might sound freeing and uncomplicated, but Marcus knows there's always more to it than that. Detaching isn't something everyone can do, or indeed should do. People are, for the most part, social creatures after all. The church is the place where people come together. How ironic then, that it happens to be the reason why Marcus has been so solitary all his life.
