[ Summer is a busy time for idols, sure, but not having classes means that ultimately there's more free time to be had. The best thing, of course, is when Ritsu's brother's lives match up with the days Trickstar and Knights have off. Days like this one. Mao had come over under the pretense of keeping Ricchan company while he slept away the hottest hours of the day and getting some reading done, but he's also just craving some personal time with his boyfriend.

Ricchan'd never been shy about touching Mao so it had taken him an embarrassingly long time to understand when his friend's leaning and nudging had changed from simply an attempt to be carried to something else but once he understood, well. Mao's never been very good at saying no to Ritsu. They've been taking things slow but for Mao, at least, there's always a sense of wanting more, both for himself and for Ritsu. There just never seemed to be a good time. Right now, though, the sun's going down outside Ritsu's window and it'll be hours yet before Sakuma-senpai comes back.

Mao sets his book aside and starts to comb his fingers through Ritsu's hair. He's not even sure if he's actually asleep or just pretending, but this is the time of day Ritsu'd want to wake up either way. ]

C'mon, Ricchan, rise and shine...

( the timing is awfully convenient, really. but hey, ritsu was never the kind to deny anything that'd make his life easier.

he'd been in and out of dozing peacefully. not quite really wanting to brave the heat and brightness of cruel summer days like mao did. but in between his flits of sleep, those bleary eyed musings has him idly watching the other read with a sense of content before drifting back to sleep.

his presence is warm, but not overbearingly so like the sun that's just now setting.

so when he feels fingers in his hair, lashes flutter slowly to readjust to seeing again, blinking away any remnants of sleep before -- well, his lips quirk up in the slightest bit of a smirk, fingers curling around the wrist of the hand that's combing through his hair so tenderly.

and he tugs, fully intending to coax him over insistently with the gesture. sleep-addled or no, nightfall is when he was most active, after all. )

[ Mao's been paying enough attention to his book that he hasn't seen Ritsu peeking at him, but it's not as though he somehow forgot he was there. It had nagged at him a little at first--he should wake him up, not indulge this nocturnal nonsense--but they were both happier this way and for once, Mao was willing to let that be more important.

Ritsu's touch is gentle at first but the tug isn't a surprise at all. Mao hums as if this wasn't something he expected all along, then shifts over until he's closer to Ritsu. ]

In sleeping? I'm not tired yet. You're the only one I know who can sleep all day like that.

[ If there was one thing Spock despised, it was ignorance, at least when it applied to her own person. While it was impossible to truly know every detail about every topic in the universe, Spock had interest in knowing as much as humanly (Vulcanly?) possible.

It was a benefit that, in their society, information was generally easy to access, especially for Spock. Living on the Enterprise, with the variety of exploration they did, also contributed to her ever expanding knowledge. Every day taught her something new. And yet, there were still instances where theoretical knowledge alone was almost useless, and no amount of reading would help.

A hands-on approach was necessary.

Once Spock made that decision, there was no pointing in delaying. A course of action was simple to plot, as there were only a handful of individuals with whom she would feel comfortable even discussing sex. The number of people with whom she would seek help from was even smaller, and from her observations of those individuals, only one who would not react negatively to her.

Which was why, as she lingers in Jim's quarters one evening, she gathers her resolve and brings up her question. ]

Captain. [ A pause, where she considers if bringing up his title is the best course of action. It is undignified, what she intends to ask, and Spock finds the loss of dignity unacceptable, hence defaulting to his title. But she understands humans enough to know that they prefer the small intimacies that the use of given names provides. So she corrects herself. ] Jim. It has come to my attention that I am inexperienced in matters of sexual intimacies and I wish to correct that lack. Would you be amenable to providing instruction?

[ Spock asking for Jim's help isn't so unusual, especially when it comes to certain human peculiarities. She has plenty of experience dealing with them on a daily basis but he knows she still sometimes struggles to make sense of certain habits, customs or attitudes that she sees as illogical, and he's never minded trying to explain them to her.

Granted, sometimes those explanations come with a bit of teasing on his end, but it's not like she can't give as good as she gets, so.

It's also not that unusual for her to drop by his quarters, though it still makes him wonder what is so important that it couldn't wait until they saw each other again. But for a change, Spock doesn't seem very interested in dancing around the subject, so Jim's about to have that clarified for him soon enough.

When she first speaks up, though, Jim just stares at her, like his brain's lagging while processing her request. Vaguely he's glad he didn't ask for that cup of coffee he was thinking about before she arrived. Chances are he'd have spat it all down his shirt at this point. ]

Uh... Okay, [ A careful pause, then, ] What do you want to know?

[ Because she's just asking for information, right? She's not asking him to sleep with her, right?

Right? ]

She blinks, a look not unlike a frown on her features. ] I am not completely ignorant of sex, I do know what occurs during such activities.

[ Though her knowledge is limited to purely clinical studies and what she has gleaned from various overheard conversations or seen between two individuals less than private in their dalliances. Which is vastly different than being engaged in such activities. Every scientist knows the best way to test information is to actually engage with it, and that is precisely what Spock intends.

Her features smooth over before she continues. ] My issue is the lack of experience I possess, which is a hindrance in understanding humans and the importance they place on the matter. Besides, it will be relevant for the future should I ever marry.

[ Not to mention knowing what to expect should that unmentionable matter of Vulcan biology ever come to pass. ]

I would... appreciate it if you were to engage in intercourse with me. Should you not wish to, then your guidance in finding an individual who might so desire is also welcome.

[ This is all said while studying the wall just over his shoulder, as looking at him might make her flee. ]
