[That's why he can never stay mad at any of the kids. Or come down too hard on them. Because - they're good kids. Even when they're in the middle of being bad, they're still good kids. And Lance mutters thanks to him no matter how irritated and unfair he feels his guardian is being.

He also knows Lance. And right now the kid is probably torn between wanting to sulk and wanting to spill everything. Shiro just wishes he could find a way to get to the second one sooner than it usually shows up. He sits down in his seat across from the boy and folds his hands on the table, human and prosthetic. He also shakes his head, watching Lance patiently. Most of the anger is gone. He's just - he's tired of hitting this wall over and over again with the kid. There has to be a way around or through it. And Shiro doesn't intend to give up until he finds it. But first - ]
