Arthur had followed Eames' advice after Inception and started taken jobs that offered him a challenge and allowed him to push the boundaries. He had enough money, curtesy of Saito, and so it was nice to be able to choose the jobs that he wanted to instead of the goal being to get Cobb back to his children.
