It wasn't easy to admit that last bit, but in reality, he could over set his wheelchair if he flailed or panicked, or if he collapsed out of exhaustion it would be a bit of a tough place to be.
After pushing himself forward nearly as much as he could against the bed, he reached down and locked the brakes on his chair, still speaking. "It'll be a little difficult at first though, but we can make it easier if we do this together. This bed is a bit higher than mine, so if you'll come around and make sure the chair doesn't move for me, I'll get myself up."
