Something they can possibly discuss in the future, if Charles is willing enough to trust him with that sort of information. He has always done his best to be strong, but the memories that terrorize him, drive him to hide away in his teacher's arms like a frightened child - they are something he struggles with trying to work through. Most of the time, they do not bother him. Then, there are nights like these, where he wonders how he doesn't wake others with his struggling. Maybe Peter just sleeps that heavily and his cries are not as loud as he believes them to be?
The hand on his head was a small comfort that he didn't expect to calm him, yet it did, slowing his breathing to somewhat normal and easing the shaking of his body. "I-I know," he stammered, sighing heavily at his fumbling. He wanted peace, but part of him felt as if he didn't deserve it.
He made sure to hold Charles' gaze though, head nodding firmly to show he was serious, "I am willing to do whatever it takes."
