A long moment of silence certainly wasn't the response he'd been expecting. Nonetheless, it made him wish he'd curbed his curiosity a little better and kept quiet on the matter. He opened his mouth as if he were going to tell Charles to not worry about it, but his tongue went dry and the words died in his throat. So much for that and trying to take it back was out of the question; it was a bit too late for that now.
Kurt pursed his lips together, teeth clenching behind them, the free hand resting in his lap curling into a loose fist. He silently watched his teacher, trying to decide if he'd stepped on any toes or not and the only time he relaxed again was when the man eventually responded. "I see," he uttered, eyebrows knitting together in contemplation. "The first group of X-Men, correct?" Raven had spoke of them on the warplane when they had gone to Cairo to retrieve Charles and battle En Sabah Nur.
Swallowing past the forming lump in his throat at that memory, he released his breath in a huff and nodded in agreement. "Approaching with caution is always a good idea, but ... never with fear, ja?"
At least, that's what he'd been telling himself after that battle.
