[He realizes, with the logical part of him that never really shuts off, that this should be a one time thing. A chance meeting that makes an interesting story and brings a smile and that's as far as it should ever go. He's not exactly in a position to ask for anything else from anyone and he's really not sure he should anyway. Not until he clears up some of the mess inside his head at least.

He inhales and sits back a little in his seat but its not a withdraw. It's just a gathering. He's just spent the last year in alien captivity, trapped in space with no hope of home. And before that it had been the trip out to Pluto which had taken months. After that, it had been less than a day dirtside before he was back in space and so far across the galaxy that he wasn't even sure anyone knew what earth was. You think its just stars and all the darkness between the stars but - the first time you look, really look, that darkness between the stars... its full of stars too. And their darkness is full of stars. And it just goes on forever. And you never see the same thing twice. No star is the same. No planet is the same. They all share traits but - they're all their own. It's like... a love song. That just goes on forever and sings in different voices and its not a love song between people. It's a love song to life...
[He comes back with another inhale and sits forward to rest his elbows on the table again, eyes focusing back on her and he smiles, a little crooked, reaching out to take a spoonful of the dessert.] So - yeah. Very cool.
