[76's aim was good, as always, catching Reaper where there was no armor or where it was thinnest. But he hadn't realized what the old soldier's plan was until he retreated away to assess. Why the other man was using bullets instead of pulse ammo.
His regeneration should have at least started on the wounds, even without anything for the nanites to scavenge from. The bullet in his thigh, just an inch or so more and it would have hit the armour uselessly, but instead has sunk into the muscle. It doesn't seem to have hit an artery but it's painful and going to hamper his movement. The center of mass shots hit mostly true as well, impact blunted by the under armor. The bullets clatter to the ground, covered in blood.
He tries to shift back into mist, to scout around quicker, but when he fails, he tries to ignore the edge of fear in his gut. Whatever he's been hit with, it's disrupting his shifting abilities too. Reaper bites back a snarl - it’s an unexpected leveling of the playing field. But he did this for years, decades, before he got the wraith abilities. One last fight without them seems fitting.
Rather than simply tossing it aside, Reaper sets down an empty shotgun in the middle of the corridor, blood spread over the grip before moving in further to lay in ambush for 76.]
