Derek couldn't say he blamed Isaac for the things he had said, everything he was feeling. And he wasn't sure how to respond in a way that would make it clear to Isaac that he understood, in his own way.
"Isaac," he started, halting in his steps at the brush of the other's arm against his own. "None of that matters now," he reminded, shaking his head slightly as if hoping that would be enough to ease that feeling away from the other, to draw him back into the emotional state he had been in before all of this had happened. "I came for you. That's what matters," he continued, motioning in the direction they'd come from.
"I'll always come for you, Isaac." Because they were a pack - a family. Isaac, Erica, and Boyd were what he drew his power from and he knew that if he was half the Alpha he thought he could be, he would use that power for them. For all of them now matter how hard it would be.
