[After Project Insight Bucky almost hadn't known what to do with himself at first - there was figuring out the food and water issue, then shelter and then when those were covered, he'd hit the museum. Left DC, somehow ended up in Hell's Kitchen.

He meets Matt when some guys make the mistake of trying to mug him. Weird thing is, at first Bucky comes out looking like he's the mugger because he's in the middle of beating the crap out of one of them when "Daredevil" swoops in. Daredevil's trained and trained well. He takes what he gets and dishes it back out and for the first time since Bucky fought Steve, he's actually impressed. For that time he almost dislocates Daredevil's shoulder, the guy retaliates by almost breaking his nose. It's a violent, physical language that Bucky finds himself familiar with, finds it weirdly comforting even though his John Doe cover doesn't last long. It's a cat and mouse game and it's a few weeks of snooping around, staying in Hell's Kitchen longer than he plans and scoping Daredevil's haunts, his patrol routine, before he has a name.

Gotta admit, he didn't see the blind lawyer thing coming.

Really? Because it looked like you did. [ Bucky hasn't blown Matt's cover. What he does know is the lawyer is someone HYDRA would've been very interested in recruiting or "acquiring" (kidnapping) if he had been on their radar. Skills like his? They'd be stupid not to chomp at the bit. If you ask him, Matt isn't in the clear yet because some of HYDRA is out there and if it isn't them, it's one of the other organizations.

Bucky watches Matt pace in his outfit, the red uniform scuffed and creaking as he balls his fists. For whatever reason, tonight he's tired of watching him pace - Bucky suddenly reaches out, grabbing his wrist and stopping him before he can pace a hole in the roof
] Will you cut that out?
