All the barriers he'd put in place seem to mean absolutely nothing now, and it's abundantly clear in a singular instant that it doesn't matter how deep he buried Jack Morrison. Years of effort suddenly seem entirely futile and he parts his lips for her, deepening the kiss into something more desperate, hot and open-mouthed as she tangles fingers in his hair.
