While her feet were bare, as the princess normally could not abide shoes when she did not absolutely have to, her hands were clad in something like very thin, very translucent silk gloves that came up past her elbows and were tied with ribbons. She caught herself at the last moment, and was about to ask if she could touch the thing before her...but what came out was more along the lines of,
