[There are certain things you don't do when your guitarist is Halloween: accept baked goods of any kind, and hire chick bassists. Chick bassists with killer tits. Because it's only a matter of time before he takes the bassist -- Kelly? Kiley? Karina? It was something with a K, right? -- home for a 'power slide'. Then it's only a matter of time before Karlie gets it into her head that this is a Thing, and that Halloween is somehow restricted to macking on her alone, which results in the bassist incurring an assault charge backstage on some bootiful brunette. And then that leads to the current uncomfortable climate for the band.]

Frankly, I feel you set me up to fail...

[Given the choice between a femme bassist-- who, if she too were being frank, Sellys had barely been able to tolerate-- and a male bassist who'd either team up with Hallo like that Dhlaran guy who had moved on to his own projects some months back and cut a swath of paternity suits through their female fans or decide that it was time for a manly-off (which could only end in a fistfight, probably with Sellys rather than Hallo), Sellys had gone with the female; at least she would focus on the music.

Of course, that was forgetting that Hallo moved in mysterious, bassist-attracting ways, and now she was tired from dealing with the manager, trying to explain the situation and quietly cursing Kesha for making such a rookie mistake.]

You set yourself up, Hallo. You should know by now how these things work. [She's a little bit annoyed, actually-- she loves Hallo like a brother, but they were about to start a tour. She'd been quietly handling the interactions with the manager when Cess couldn't, and all that hard work seemed to have gone down the drain.

Yes. The precedent is to never trust Halloween with anything with tits and the predispensation to open their legs for him, obviously. Can't you have the 'this is not a relationship' talk before you go do... whatever it is you do with them?

[That'd save her and Cess a lot of damage control. Besides, he didn't have to herd guitarists and bassists when they'd had about five too many shots of tequila and were starting to decide that pants should be optional.]

We'll see how the manager handles this. I'm pretty sure Kesha's out, though. I wonder if we can even find a decent bassist at this point, though. We've only got a few weeks.
