((So, maybe it really was the first time he'd ever seen the REAL Dirk. Like not a fake!real Dirk or some dirk!bot or even those fuckin' specs of his that were the bane of his universe FOREVER. Maybe he'd kind of imagined it being a certain way. Sure as fuck didn't get that. Kissing a goddamn head? Screw that. Worst kiss. --Except not. He wouldn't deny having something of a thrill considering that his single kiss would make him the hero for all THREE of his friends.

So actually seeing Dirk? Just as much a thrill. He's a bit stunned. He sorta' wants to talk to him about it but... fuck what does a fella say about that sort of thing?! God it looked so much easier in the movies. The chick just kinda' falls all over the hero. Two problems: This isn't a movie. And Dirk isn't a chick.

But, no doubt Dirk has notice Jake's casual and prolonged side glances. He was TRYING to be covert about it, but frequency allows for folly.))

Needless to say, Peter's cared about Gwen for a long time now. But there's something about the way she's dressed tonight, about the smile on her face, the way her eyes crinkle when she's so happy and how her hair glows at the edges where the light kisses it that's just put a dopey, mushy, gushy grin on his face and makes his heart skip a beat.

Cheesy, yeah, but heck. If your girlfriend was this brilliant, beautiful, brave and kind? You'd be a sap too.

"Hey... so have I told you lately that you're awesome? Not-- just for dating me, though that's pretty awesome, too. But, in general. You're awesome."

She giggled. Peter always had the most endearingly awkward way of speaking. She let her fingers comb through his mess of a hair.

"Not lately. I appreciate the compliment." She gave him a quick kiss.

Peter came by to visit her, via the fire escape again. Her Dad would shoot Peter on the spot if he walked in.

"Have I told you that one day you're going to get me in trouble?"

Peter wasn't big on being shot, thanks. Fire escapes were much preferable to hospitals and awkward apologies to Mrs. Stacy for bleeding on her welcome mat.

Quirking a grin at her after her kiss and her statement, he shrugged his shoulders up and tried to look innocent... while managing 100% to completely not look innocent whatsoever.

"Not lately." Repeated. "But I appreciate the complaint." Joked, softly, giving a laugh under his breath and looking down.

"I got you something."

No, it's fine!! I'll just give it a little... ((RUBBING AT HIS FACE MORE. You'll have to be just a little more forceful than that; a mere touch will get him to chill out.))

She was genuinely shocked. What could he have possibly got her?

"Peter, you didn't have to get me anything." Although he was earning the title of best boyfriend ever right now. I mean, who can top Spider-man?

But she was excited to see what he got her. "What is it?"
