A part of him wondered if they would be satisfied with that, if maybe then at least they would leave Cloud alone.
But those scattered thoughts stop the moment he hears that shot go off, clear as day, and hears the yell of the Turk. It's enough to get him to move again, shuffling and scrambling until two feet are under him again and he's using that off balanced momentum to hurry forward, to lose it just as he reaches his buster and fall forward. In the end, it's to his advantage though as he hauls the sword up and back-
