[It pleases Frodo to get a smile out of the other hobbit, even a tiny one, but it doesn't last long; Sam's smile slides off his face. Stranger still is Sam's reluctance. Sam goes back to busying himself with the fire and avoiding Frodo's eyes. Frodo himself looks a little crestfallen, but mostly puzzled. He had thought it a decent compromise himself! If neither is willing to keep the blanket, why not both?]
What's wrong with it? I thought it nicely solved our problem.
