They have their scars. They have many of them, really, between Elliot's back and Rachel's shoulders and Edgar's ribs; between the lives they've lived so far that have been rough in one way or another.
They have their bruises. Sparring together always results in a fascinating display of color on their skin.
What Elliot likes best (what he imagines they all do) are the days when the scars don't ache with remembered pain. When the only bruises are the ones they leave on each other out of love.
It's a little mean, perhaps, for Rachel and Elliot to be so intent on marking each other when they know Edgar's in a meeting. It's entirely possible, though, that the two of them never promised to be very nice.
At least they're good enough to make sure it's all in spots Edgar's clothes were covering, today. More or less.

There's something lovely about sharing the scars they have. There's something lovely about knowing that they can carry the marks together, even if the pain itself had been somewhat scattered.
And there's something nice about the continuous little reminders of one another. It's nice having little knicks and dings pop up now and then, proving that they're all still alive--that nothing can stop them.
It's also nice to have physical reminders of their time together. It's incredibly nice to feel Elliot's teeth on Rachel's neck and Rachel's nails along Elliot's neck. Except, well.
Except when the Tens are listening to the Jack and his skin couldn't stop exploding with the wonderful knowledge that the other two pieces of his soul were enjoying each other's company. Except when one of his hands had to shift abruptly to cover just above the edge of his collar.
He does try to scowl when he gets home, calling out when he finally manages to pull his collar back down. "--bunch of jerks."

[The day is here. The day they'd all known would eventually come, ever since middle school. Minako has the windows open as she gets dressed, allowing a breeze to blow through and rustle the papers and train tickets tossed haphazardly on the table. But the wind seems to bring something else with it, too - something souring the happiness she feels for her Princess and Prince.
It's not like this marks the end of her duty. Just the opposite. Many battles were fought for everyone to make it this far, and she knows her leadership played some part in that, even if it's small.
