MAY/DECEMBER ROMANCE

A May-December romance is any where there is a larger than average age difference between the partners involved. Sometimes this is met with disapproval, sometimes it is arranged, sometimes it is abuse of power, and other times it just happens and it's no one's fault or doing. This meme focuses on those relationships.

They'd arranged to meet somewhere in the lab, out of the way with none of the little cameras to tell people what was going on. She'd heard Barry talk about it once. He'd mentioned something about the other Harrison Wells and the Reverse Flash's suit. The other Harrison. She remembered the odd looks when she'd asked why they kept calling him that. She'd heard the story about how he'd been some guy from the future who'd stolen Harrison's face for his own.

Maybe that's where it began. Even Ollie thought of him as the double of the monster who'd killed Barry's mom. No one seemed to agree when she pointed out that the monster and Harrison had never been the same person, even the Harrison who was supposed to be in their world.

But now...she wasn't sure whether he was planning on letting her down easy or actually doing something about the sparks that were between them, but nothing could happen if she couldn't find the right place. She peered around the next corridor and muttered something under her breath about arrogant scientists who couldn't design a sensible building and instead had created a maze.

To say this was a mistake was to rank it up there with Ramon's gift for understatements. But ever since 'Team Arrow' had come to Central City to assist in their battle against Zoom, Harry knew his life would never be the same.

Oliver Queen looked at him as if the very air he breathed was offensive and frankly Harry didn't care. He was almost getting used to those looks, the ones that saw Thawne and not the face of the man he'd killed. The only one from Starling who seemed to look at him differently was Thea. She rose to his defense, argued with her brother on his behalf when she had no reason to.

She was fierce, she was magnificent and he was in too deep. They are quite literally from two different worlds but every time he closes his eyes, Harry sees her.

The annoyed mutter brings a faint smile to his lips as he rounds the corner. Harry knows every inch of STAR labs, regardless of the world. "Over here Thea."

Thea froze when she heard the voice and relaxed when she realized who it was. A grin formed on her face when she realized he'd overheard her. "This is a double of your STAR Labs, right?" she asked innocently, implying he was the arrogant scientist she'd been talking about. He was arrogant, but only when he knew he might be right. The other times, it was all bluster.

She relaxed a little more when she saw the smile on his face. That wasn't the look of a man who was going to say she was too young for him and let her down easy.

"So tell me, Harry," she teased, using the nickname the others had given him. She wasn't sure whether it got under his skin or not, but she might as well try. "Do you often lead unsuspecting women into your maze of sin?" The words were punctuated by her moving closer and putting the slightest bit of sway into her hips.

(At just barely 19, she's definitely the younger party)

"With a few small exceptions," he admits, closing the door behind him. Now that he had come clean to Barry and the others about Zoom, he didn't feel quite as bad turning off the cameras. But the storeroom was doubling as his work station and temporary living quarters and he had earned some privacy, at least for tonight.

The smile she gets is faint, but unlike all of his other thin smiles, this one reaches all the way to his eyes. "No. But I thought this might be a safer place for us to talk."

Particularly when she has an older brother who would probably be more than happy at putting a few arrows into him.

((OOC: I'm pushing the terms of the meme a little, but I suppose you could argue that Dawn is in her late twenties.

Either way Dawn here is a shapeshifter. So I'm figuring Jane discovers that and they hit it off. Dawn makes enough money that she could allow Jane to live with her and away from her father.

The thread itself could consist of them first moving in together and maybe involve that experience gap. Especially with the fact that Dawn can create things such as tentacles and the like.))

"Oh." Talk. Right. That was a thing they had to do. The smile she gave him didn't reach her eyes. She knew what kind of 'talk' he wanted to have and it involved letting her down and not taking advantage of the closed door and small freedom they had from everyone who might judge.

She took a breath and braced herself. She was an adult. She could handle this. She'd been rejected before. Every time Roy walked into and back out of her life, she was rejected. The feelings were still there, but he couldn't come back. Even though everyone knew that the Green Arrow was alive and the detective who'd been in charge of arresting them was now working with them. It made total sense.

"Right. I understand. So talk." And then she would find a way to drown her sorrows. She heard Barry did a mean karaoke.
