cuddle up

CUDDLE MEME

what to do:
☆ post a comment with your character's name and fandom or preferences, if you have them.
★ use the magic RNG 1-12 to pick the cuddly scenario. or not.
☆ then cuddle it out!

cuddle choices:
Sweet dreams It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
Stormy weather The heavy rain, thunder and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
Lazy dancer It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
Surprise attack Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
Movie night It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
I love you, man It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
Jeepers creepers Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
Hurt and comfort Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
Sunday morning Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there’s just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart’s content.
Moment after You just had incredible, vigorous sex (playing out is totally optional) and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
Ménage à trois Or four, or five. Get a group and cuddle away.
Player's choice Pick one or make up your own!

tevintersdreadwolf: (Isn't that just precious)

Your Hawke's Bethany is in the Circle, right? Cause this needs a rewrite if she's not. |D

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-10 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Hawke's laugh is followed by Fenris', short and subdued, but for once it reaches his eyes, crinkling them at the corners and easing some of the guarded sharpness from his expression. So much of his life seems spent waiting for the next betrayal, armored behind offense and anger, but there was still a man in there somewhere who laughed at lewd jokes and bad puns and sometimes the exaggerated misfortunes of certain mages and magisters. He has a harder time smiling like he means it, but sometimes it happens. Usually when he's not paying attention. Or drunk.]

You're blushing. And here I thought you wanted to help. [It's a harmless tease, one he waves off before she can call him on it.] Have no fear, I will speak nothing of it to her. I hear she's sent most of them to your sister anyway.

[That one he DOES expect retribution for.]
twinfangs: (you've set it running free)

You got it!

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-10 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
[She's almost sorry that it's more difficult to hear his laughter over her own. It's such a rare thing to see him genuinely pleased, much less laughing or even joking around. It's a wonderful sound, though she'll never say as much lest he grump at her for even bringing it up. She covers her ears with her hands to hide the red, her smile never faltering.]

Hush, you. I don't think you need any instruction or learning in that area.

[Hawke bumps her shoulder with his and nudges him in the side, a mocking gesture to real punishment. The look she gives him is playful.]

So that's what she did with them. Of course, send it to my sister so she can get in trouble when she's caught reading them. She's horrible. And if you encouraged her, then the same can be said of you.

[The quiet huff she sends his way is anything but serious, a note of dramatic flair just good enough to fit in one of Varric's embellished stories of her adventures.]
tevintersdreadwolf: You secure that shit, Fenris! (How do I get out of this nugshit outfit?)

ugh, sorry for the vanishing post. I blame cold meds for letting me think that was okay.

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-10 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[He rocks with the nudge, teeth flashing in a quick grin. There's a bit of pride there, knowing Hawke was satisfied with him, even if he keeps the feeling mostly hidden. It's not in his nature to feel proud of many things, least of all himself, but in this case, it's hard not to.]

[The harmless accusation that follows has him shaking his head.]

Me? [Another laugh and he reaches out to drag over the nearby wine bottle.] Isabela needs no encouragement, merely an excuse. And a smart man will not quickly admit to providing either.

[There's something comfortable about this, the ease with which they can sit and talk, even like this when by all rights, he should be more on edge than ever. After all, it's what had driven him away the first time, his inability to find this peace with himself and, in part, with her. But maybe when they can just... talk, and not agonize about the things that hurt, it's easier.]
twinfangs: (and a bitterness)

hey now, any length of tag is totally fine with me. I just passed out early last night

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-10 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[She raises a thin eyebrow to that, watching him pull over a bottle of wine.]

And yet you admit to being privy to her more debauched decisions. What is that, conspiracy? [She fixes him with a look.] Would I be wrong if I guessed that this was decided over a drink at the Hanged Man?

[Try as she might to sound disappointed or even annoyed, it's useless. Her smile fights to show at the corners of her lips and she shakes her head, only imagining the sort of depraved stories Isabela's sent to her sister. As much as she wishes Bethany would accept letters that she sent her... Well, this will have to be enough, she supposes.]
tevintersdreadwolf: (poptaaaarts...)

Sleep is good! And it means I got a chance to rewrite. Win-win. |D

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-10 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[He fixes her with a look right back, and he's much more successful at flattening the line of his mouth and erasing the humor from his eyes, even if it is all just a ruse.]

Marian. Everyone is privy to her decisions. Especially the debouched ones.

[And then the casual curve of his smile returns as he leans back and takes a quick drink from the bottle.]

She mentioned it in passing to me, probably trying to get a rise out of it. Frankly, I find it amusing that she considers you more of a deterrent than the templars.
Edited (sentance structure... how does it work.) 2012-11-10 19:36 (UTC)
twinfangs: (I know I have a fickle heart)

But it was fine how it was!

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-10 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Whatever she starts to say is swallowed prematurely when he says her name. It never fails to send a little thrill down her spine when he says it, when she's not 'Hawke' to everyone. And beyond the very rare occasion she hears it from his lips, she hasn't had the pleasure since before her mother died.

It's...strangely nice, even if 'Hawke' is a comfortably distant name to remind her not to get too attached to the people and things she does outside of her circle of friends.

The side of her lips quirks upward in amusement.]

Especially you, I've come to notice. I'll admit that the mental image of you with tattoos of breasts isn't one that goes away easily.

[She holds out her hand for the wine, her smile growing sharp at the edges, that dangerous glint in her eyes more telling than anything else.]

Me, more frightening than the templars? Perish the thought.
tevintersdreadwolf: (Did you just mansplain that?)

ANYTHING SHORT OF PERFECTION IS A BLIGHT ON MY SOOOOOUUUUL /shot

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-10 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's Marian him him here like this, sitting in front of the fire, the both of them wrapped in bedsheets. Hawke is for the streets; for the nobles and thugs, with weapons out and armor on. And it pleases him to be able to use it, the opportunity like a gift that reassures him that they can be this close even if it's only in the way they say their names.]

[He clears his throat awkwardly at the reminder of that particular conversation. Maybe he has a bad habit of indulging Isabela's more outlandish trains of thought, but they do make him laugh. A guilty pleasure, alas.]

That's Isabela: she's a giver.

[He passes her the bottle without complaint, but not before taking a second drink himself.]

I imagine you scare a few of the templars, too.
twinfangs: (but you had to come along didn't you)

:T Fine, I'll just start giving you tiny tags so you'll have to respond in kind.

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-10 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[She tries to keep her grin contained when he clears his throat, knowing full well what sort of thoughts it can crop up. She says nothing to make it worse on him, though, knowing when to push and when to recede. Instead, she pulls the one sheet up over her shoulder a little more and pulls her legs beneath her to sit cross-legged, just enough of a distraction to keep her tongue from running wild and embarrassing him further.]

Oh, is she. I still have the scar from the Arishok from being nearly gutted. [There's no bitterness in the quip; Isabela's long since been forgiven.] And the Antivan brandy she got me in apology.

[She takes the bottle and smiles faintly before pressing the tip of it to her lips.]

What a shame. [Good, she thinks, because maybe they should be a little wary of the Champion who will bring the Void down on their heads if anything should happen to Bethany.] Not Meredith, though.
Edited 2012-11-10 22:11 (UTC)
tevintersdreadwolf: (But what are your thoughts on the Circle)

You wouldn't! C____C

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-11 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Fenris resists the urge to ask that she share some of her spoils. Claiming that he helped with it would undoubtedly be in poor taste, even for him. The whole thing had been a gamble, one everyone's parts. Isabela's, Hawke's, his... even, he suspects, the Arishok. But it was over with now and the true spoils from that victory carried on the wind every time someone spoke of the Champion.]

[He watches her drink, the press of her lips to the glass, the line of her throat. It feels as if just invoking the Knight Commander by name drains some of the humor from the conversation. She is not a woman to be taken lightly and he wonders if they are eventually going to be toeing that delicate line still between them.]

Meredith cannot afford to be frightened. Such weakness from the Knight Commander could only be seen as an opportunity.
twinfangs: (there's nothing left for us)

Maybe I will! And you'll never know until suddenly TINY TAG.

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-11 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
[She suspects she'll share it with him anyway. She's saving it for a special occasion, one where she can get herself drunk enough to be ridiculous, and who better to do that with than Fenris or Isabela? Or both? In fact, that last one is a good idea, one she'll think on another time.

She lifts the bottle away from her lips and stares into the fire beyond the glass, the distorted image creating the illusion of black flames dancing on the other side of the glass. For a moment, she says nothing.]

I know what she's afraid of.

[Blood mages. Chaos. Destruction. A loss of control. Hawke's spent too much of her life running and protecting her family from people like Meredith to not know what makes her tick.]

I don't want Meredith afraid. She's...important to this city. Vital, even. [Hawke isn't afraid to openly acknowledge that fact.] But I don't want her complacent as the new Viscount. I don't want her believing the people here will bend to the iron rule of a woman who sees evil behind every smile and corruption in any voice of dissent against her.

tevintersdreadwolf: (Braved and beat them on my own)

You're a monster! ;-;

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-11 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Meredith is going to be a problem. Fenris can feel it in his bones. The woman is a force of nature and not likely to be stopped with ease. And to hear Hawke talking about now, not even a handful of months after Dumar's death is... sobering.]

...Including yours?

[It's a carefully posed question, green eyes intent on Hawke for her answer. Somehow the idea that she might resist the Knight Commander the same way she had resisted the Arishok is enough to start the cold knot of worry in his stomach. Because even for as terrible as the qunari could be and for as much as he would defend the templars against their detractors, Fenris could at least trust those of the Qun to abide by their own rules, something he sometimes doubts of the Order.]
twinfangs: (we got swag all over)

Don't be that way ;;

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-11 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
[The truth is that Hawke simply doesn't know. For all that people crow about her accomplishments, her quick thinking and mostly-good judgment, the fact remains that she's only one person. A few years ago, she held no sway in anything, no power of her own. She might as well have none for all that it will do against Meredith's influence, not to mention her army.

She sets the bottle down carefully, hand still wrapped loosely around the neck.]

I don't want to fight her. [She's not Anders, clamoring for an excuse to go after the templars.] I'm not going to go after her. But things need to change before I'm willing to turn my back on what goes on up in the Gallows.

[She turns to him fully, and despite the firm set of her shoulders, her eyes hold concern instead of the usual pittance of determination.]

You know what Ser Alrik was doing behind her back. She may have rejected his idea, but how many mages were made Tranquil because of what he did? And what was he doing with them afterward? [What he had said to that mage girl still has Hawke unsettled.] He was watching Bethany, Fenris. How long would it have been before he decided she was next?
magicalrealist: (Woah...)

...it's Tuesday?

(Prepare yourself, AJ...)

Oh no, oh no no no no no no no no no no, it's Tuesday?! I thought it was Monday! I've been working so hard, I accidentally shifted my schedule forward an entire day!
tevintersdreadwolf: (I thought beheading him was reasonable)

Aw, I'm just messin with ya. :T

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-13 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[No, she's not Anders and he trusts her not to turn into him, but he knows that her sister is a powerful force in her decisions. He knows, or suspects at least, how far she would go for her. At least as long as nothing drastic happens, he can have faith in Hawke's ability to play the relatively even keel. Her answer only proves it.]

She's smarter than that, Hawke. And Alrik and his conspirators are dead. No one approved of what he was doing. That is not the templar's or Meredith's fault.

[Even Fenris had to agree that it had been an abuse of power, his opinions on the use of the right of tranquility notwithstanding. He's not looking to argue with her about this, but if she started seeing Alrik in all the templars, how much better would she be?]
twinfangs: (elves converting to the qun)

<3

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-14 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
I know that. Maker, I know. But it should never have gotten so far.

[And where there's one Alrik, there's always more whose actions are much more covert. It doesn't just extend to the templars, either; where there's one of Anders, there are always a dozen more who simply keep silent. She doesn't simply fear what Meredith's ascension to power will cause in the ranks, but also in how Kirkwall will shift to accommodate her. The Viscount had been easier to deal with, hardly an obstacle. Now, everything's changing.

Hawke lifts a hand gently, just to tell him that she's not going to pursue an argument. She has no wish to.]

It's not her fault. But she's just one woman, now in charge of overseeing mages and the city. I'm simply...wary.
tevintersdreadwolf: (Did you just mansplain that?)

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-14 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He tilts his head by a fraction in answer to her hand, an acknowledgement that neither of them were going to be pushing it any further. She's right, though: Alrik never should have been a problem. The templars needed to be strict and ever watchful of course, but there was a line to be drawn between authority... and abuse. One he is all too familiar with.]

As is the rest of the city, I suspect. It will not be an easy transition.

[He moves to stand up then, the loose ends of the blanket gathered over his arms. He hadn't exactly bothered with clothes when he'd first sat down, having half expected to fall back asleep in front of the fire before Hawke noticed his absence, but now they might be worth gathering back up.]

You know they'll be looking to you as well.
twinfangs: (there are guts on my boots)

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-16 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
They have every reason to be...and not simply because Meredith is who she is.

[The seat of Viscount has always remained within nobility, though appointed by whom, she can't say. She has reason to believe Meredith put Dumar in power in the first place so she could have a puppet on the throne. It wouldn't have been a poor idea, either. The templars remain in control, order is maintained... It would work out just fine. But now Meredith has direct power over what goes on in Kirkwall. Even if she wasn't the Knight-Commander, her very demeanor can give people cause to worry.

At his second point, she shoots him a faint smile, taking a moment to admire what little she can see of him from under the blanket as he looks for his clothes.]

To what end? I can't lead people better than she can. If they're looking for someone in opposition of their new ruler, they won't find it in me.

[Not yet, not unless she's given reason to question Meredith. She's not there just yet and she hopes not to be for some time. Hawke stands and goes to the fire, wiggling her toes a little on the stone floor.]
tevintersdreadwolf: (Live a second as a lifetime)

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-16 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't need do. You're their Champion. They idolize you. [He abandons the blanket to pull his pants back on, giving the laces a loose tug.] For good or ill, Meredith will sit upon her throne, but the people can still come to you. You fought and killed for them- you protected them as one of their own. That makes people feel safe.

[His tunic is.. somewhere. Back near the fire, he thinks. A small matter when he turns to see Hawke standing by the hearth. He returns to her, sliding his arms around her as he settles at her back.]

Fear is something this city has had its fill of for a time, I think.
twinfangs: (there's a ghost in my lungs)

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-17 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I couldn't let them destroy the city. Anyone else would do the same.

[But there's truth in what he says and she knows it, glancing back briefly to give him a smile over her shoulder. Being a noble didn't stop her from wanting to help. Why would getting a true title be any different? Nothing's truly changed, not for her. For that, at least, she can be grateful.

She turns just slightly at the feeling of strong, warm arms around her and smiles, head tilted just enough that she can look at him.]

Good. I've had my fill of it too.

[She'll never admit the terror she felt that night with Aveline nearly skewered, Bethany injured near the Keep, and the city burning all around them. But that's far and away, the memory pushed aside in favor of that warm, tickling flutter in her chest with him behind her.

Hawke lifts a hand up to touch his cheek in appreciation.]

You're much better at comforting than you say you are. [Her smile is slightly wry.] Thank you.
tevintersdreadwolf: (And will the world stay standing still)

[personal profile] tevintersdreadwolf 2012-11-17 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[That gets a small smile out of him in return, along with a chuckle that rumbles in his chest.]

Just the truth. [He could say something about Hawke's choice to be comforted by the implication that an entire city leaned on her for their emotional stability; or he could deny that he was trying to comfort her at all, but that would be a lie. Well, mostly a lie.]

[He's still not sure that he really knows how to do it properly and it's probably just that his words are better suited to the situation this time, but at the root of it, he does know that he wants her to feel comforted... so maybe there was some merit in that.]

[He tightens his arms around her by a fraction and turns his head to press his lips affectionately to the heel of her palm, a rare moment when he can allow himself to enjoy this closeness.]
twinfangs: (we'll find a way together)

[personal profile] twinfangs 2012-11-18 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[There's warmth in her gaze, little chills running down her spine at the press of his lips to her palm. She leans in just enough to bump her nose to the side of his jaw, open affection to share with him, though she does little else. Her hand settles over his and squeezes tenderly for just a moment, glad he's keeping close despite the misgivings he carries.

She chuckles breathily and shakes her head.]

'Just the truth,' he says.

[Hawke presses her lips to the underside of his jaw slyly with a faint grin.]

You do more than you know. You always have.

[Applejack can feel Twilight starting to panic back there and does her best to remain still as she speaks up to get her attention.]

Whoa, calm down there, sugarcube! You seem to be pretty far into all of that work already, and it's still the beginning of the week.

Ah'm sure you've got plenty of time to get it done by Friday. Just calm down and take a breath okay? Panicking isn't going to help. Relax and take a moment to take stock of the work in general, alright? Don't focus on what day it is, just how far you are. If you're still worried after that, we can head back and take a look to see if you're behind or not.

[See, logic! That'll keep her calm and think this through and not try and solve this problem in a crazy way like using time travel or enchanting a doll...]
magicalrealist: (Sheepish pony)

[personal profile] magicalrealist 2012-12-04 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
(Hmm...logic is a hard thing for Twilight to argue with. Because logic is good and she loves logic. It at least stop the panicky flailing.)

...okay, you're right. I made good progress and don't have that much to worry about...but I have to rework my schedule for this week since everything is now a day earlier than expected. Oh, maybe I can finally schedule that lunch meeting with Pinkie...

(Twilight stops herself.)

But maybe I can worry about that later; there's no real rush for it now.
downtoearthpony: (*relaxing*)

[personal profile] downtoearthpony 2012-12-14 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Applejack holds back a chuckle and merely smiles.]

Exactly. See, the nice thing about being ahead is now you have that extra time to relax!

[Applejack rests her head down on the ground, between her outstretched legs.]

And this is a pretty relaxing spot, dontcha think?
magicalrealist: (Magical apples)

[personal profile] magicalrealist 2012-12-17 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it is a pretty comfortable spot.

(Referring to the location more than AJ's back.)

You're relaxing from work as well, aren't you?
