You can sign out anytime you like, but oh, don't ever leave

Welcome to the city, enjoy your stay - however brief it may be.
1. Used the RNG to pick a choice.
2. Leave a comment with the character name, fandom and any preferences you have. It would be lovely if you would start the thread, but that's not required.
| (1) The Station | This is the end of the line. You get off the train only to realize you're not where you're meant to be. The map shows four stops, none of them familiar... is that an alien begging for food? You look around hoping to find some sort of way out, or at least familiar face in the crowd. |
| (2) The Bazaar and Mall | You can find anything your heart desires in the shops of the Nightside. Lost memories? A stairway to heaven? If you can name it, it'll be there. Goods, services. Everything. Just remember, have your wallet ready, and that the slogan is Caveat Emptor. |
| (3) Londinium Club | The oldest gentlemen's club in the Nightside, or so it claims. It prides itself on being elitist, accepting only the rich and powerful among it's members. Now that you've gotten in, what would you like to do? Take tea? Or perhaps you'll like to walk through the gallery of Picassos on display. |
| (4) Saint Jude | The one and only church where you know your prayers can be answered. Sanctuary, or absolution, the Patron Saint of lost causes is listening, and sometimes talks back. |
| (5) Strangefellows | A hole-in-the-wall bar run by the most pessimistic barkeep you’ll ever meet. This is a drinking establishment. Fighting will be met with excessive force, and don't you dare suggest alternatives to the heavy metal playing. The drinks are great, but try the food at your own peril. Specialties include ‘Angel’s Tears’ and pigs balls. |
| (6) The Styx Theater | A night at the opera? To watch Pierrot waltzing across the stage with his ragdoll Columbine. Or a stage magician who truly says someone in half... that person's not getting their money back. Not that it matters, so many of the audience are part of the undead anyway. |
| (7) The Necropolis | Bring in your dead! If your body winds up here, you're damn well staying dead, whatever burial method you chose. (Cryogenics? Embalming? It's all there.) If you're visiting a grave site, ask one of the workers and they'll direct you on your way. |
| (8) The Fortress | A stronghold of steel and concrete for the people who need a place to hide, basically an armory with beds and 24/7 surveillance. It was built by alien abductees, don't you know? However, laywers are not allowed. |

Hey, that window looks open.]
8, if you're cool with crossovers?
That includes pulling resources to do so, and Trinity's good with information -- like getting word on potential assistance. What she's heard of this guy might sound like a stretch, but she's willing to believe a lot of things these days. Besides, if her info's good, it can't hurt to at least get to know him.]
Harry Dresden? [Businesslike, as always.]
John Taylor | Nightside
And it's up to you to decide if you believe all of the rumors...]
Absolutely! Thanks for hitting him up!
[He takes a bit of a glance around before turning his entire attention back to her. He knows this place but honestly hasn't ever stepped foot into it in his life. Or, well, what of his life he's spent here in what looks like a rip off of the Nevernever. Like the dime-store version. Maybe dime-store was overselling it.]
What kind of protective wards do you already have up? [Right to business.]
np! I couldn't resist.
Most of the defenses are physical -- armed sentries, all with guns and a few with some hand-to-hand knowledge. I don't have much experience with your... area of expertise, but I know that some light barriers have been put into place. I've been told that they're for alarm purposes only, though.

Or wheebarrelfuls. He's not picky.]
Might do some good in a place like this. We've got enough things wandering around.
[He's not going to skirt around knowledge, not here, not now.]

[She reaches up to remove her sunglasses -- partly because she's usually not one to Wear Them At Night, but mostly because any kind of transaction depends on trust, and coming off as too distant can hurt that effort.]
I'm sure you're also aware that the people in this city are all but on their own. I might not understand the exact mechanisms behind the things you do, Mr. Dresden, but I know you're good at them -- and right now my priority is keeping this stronghold as stable and secure as possible.
Even if it's only your professional opinion, I could use some help with that.

At least she'd heard about him. That helped things along a whole lot. Taking a couple pacing steps, he pulled the chalk out of his pocket. ]
They'll only last until dawn, but since that happens at never o'clock, we'll be good in that department until the world starts revolving again. [He takes a long, sweeping glance of the structure. Making huge rings would do a lot of good if he could get the chalk to last that long.] You're likely to get anything from vampires to the really undead knocking at your door without the wards.
[He considers how much magic he could do before draining himself. The wards by themselves might be enough, but if he could manage some kind of distraction spell to turn anything that didn't belong inside away from the building, that would do almost just as good as the wards.]

And generally speaking, what kind of firepower would it take to defend against those threats?

[Harry turns back toward Trinity, having enough grace to at least tell her the truth in this situation. She had to know what she was going up against.]
Even werewolves. Different kinds of werewolves go down different ways. Some need inherited silver, some don't.

I'll keep that in mind -- so I'm assuming that would make avoidance entirely priority.

Wards will help. Those I can do.

[Might as well get it out of the way if he's the entirely business-minded type.]
