It really was bizarre. Karen was a high-end robot with a lot of optional features installed. Just the fact that she existed was rather excessive. Whoever had thrown her away must have had far more money than sense.

Power cell at 15%, a little worrisome but more than enough to run on for a while. More worrisome was that either her internal clock was way off or she'd been powered down for months. Not that it was proper companion robot behavior to express such worries while she was performing her startup routine. "Good morning, young mistress."

Wait. "...you aren't the young mistress." She stared at Nanoha for a moment, running a full facial recognition scan. No, she'd never seen this woman before in her existence.
