[ he huffs, leaning almost unconsciously to the trail of takao's thumb against his cheek, between blushing further at takao acknowledging the heat in his cheeks and fighting down said blush because it was unbecoming of an angel of his stature.

tensions still races though his body as takao's fingers intertwine with his; even knowing the humans that pass them by can't see them, even knowing that there are no other supernatural beings to witness this, even as holding hands is even more innocent than the light kiss he'd initiated, the lasting nature of the publicity of the display is still something long ingrained as something to avoid. almost in retaliation, he curls his fingers around takao's, squeezing gently.

As if you could, though you are welcome to give failure a try.

[ it's nice, the almost childish antics that takao drags him into. it's so different from his usual duties and normal demeanor that it truly makes each jaunt down to earth to meet takao feel like a vacation. his colleagues had commented on it, kise jabbing him in the side as he teased about a hint of a smile. said smile had instantly been shot through with a scowl, cutting off further teasing. since then he had tried only to remember his times with takao in private, and even the mundane had become more precious as a result. he hasn't been to a festival in decades, but it is much as he remembers.

he vows to himself to let takao at least drag him to brush their feet in the cool river water. even if they could choose to be immune to the summer humidity, the small pleasures that he remembers seem greater when he's with takao, even if the only sign of it is a slight smile that plays on his lips.
