stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.

scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

6 BECAUSE HIRO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH SNOW

[Snow and outdoors is not Hiro's thing. He's from California, where it just plain never gets cold enough to really snow anywhere that isn't the top of a mountain. So this heavy snowfall that he can see out the window? It's not for him.

Instead, he's going to sit on the floor near the fireplace, bundled up in a blanket with a mug of hot cocoa on the floor next to him, leaning back against the couch while he plays Minecraft a game on his phone. This is much more his speed.]

[Snow and outdoors is very much Hiccup's thing, especially as this is the sort of weather he's very much accustomed to. He can definitely tolerate it much better than most higher sources of heat so this current weather status has him a little more hyped than normal.

Busting through the door, he wanders in with a laugh and a trail of white powder from his boot, wetting the floor as it melts from the surface of the material. Shaking off the rest of the snow from his clothing, he closes the door to block off the essentially cold breeze.]

Whew! That was a good walk. You really missed out on it, you know. I swear, you haven't moved an inch since I left.

[The second that door opens, Hiro's making a face and pulling his blanket in a little tighter around him. The frigid breeze is entirely unwelcome, and once Hiccup's closed the door behind him he reaches for his hot cocoa to take a sip.]

Nope, I planted myself here like this for a reason. [He barely even glances away from his phone as he talks. He's much too busy with his game to think about the world beyond his blankets and the fireplace.] I'm glad you had fun rolling around in the ice. With wind chill it was, what, negative 45 degrees out there? Sooooooo great.
