COMPROMISING POSITION MEME

Up until now, there's definitely been some tension between you two. Whether it's more romantic or flatly sexual is, understandably, dependent on the personalities involved, but the fact remains that you both have been dancing around the issue for whatever reason. Why do why say "up until now?" Well, it's simple. Somehow, either through accident or otherwise, you've end up in what can only be considered a compromising position: you're in the other's lap, you're on top of them, chest to chest, almost kissing, so on and so forth. This leads to the ultimate snap in your tension - you just can't hold it in any longer, even if you try to get out of this situation unscathed.

The direction you move in, again, depends on the people involved, so things could take a turn for the awkward, the cute, the romantic, the desperate, or even the steamy. What's for certain is that whatever's between you may never be the same...unless you guys, in typical will they/won't they fashion, can repress and pretend nothing ever happened.

WHY

accidental: It was a trip, an not so calculated move, or another mistake that lead you here.
on purpose: You were getting closer and enjoying each others' company, planning a move...but you didn't mean to get this close right off. Or maybe you did

WHAT

awkward: UH UH SORRY FOR LANDING ON YOUR. UHM. YOU KNOW. But moving makes it worse, or you could be in a state of undress.
cute: Ah, just kiss them already! Or at least look into each others' eyes and have a moment.
romantic: A sweet, long kiss and perhaps some long-held confessions are in order.
confessions: Actually, speaking of confessions, they might just slip out without anything sweet...oooor your body reacting to this new position may be all the proof the other person needs to know something's up.
desperate: Oh, fuck it. You might never have this chance again and you've been wanting them so badly, you may as well snog at least, no matter what.
steamy: The smut option!

[As an elf who also happens to be a rather squishy mage, there are few people better than Bull to use a shield in the middle of a battle. He swings his giant weapon, she stands behind him and lights their enemies on fire, it works. Her favorite is when he charges and she manages to freeze people directly in his path, because there isn't much more effective than a giant qunari smashing into people encased in glass.

Really, the problems in the field come when she gets too impatient to find a way around a mountain and instead tries to go straight over it. Leaping up onto outcroppings of rocks and clambering up steep inclines is more fun than the boring trek to the easy path, that's all. Many times her friends have given up on her, left her to her fight against the mountain and her own stubbornness because it was rare she ever actually gave up.

Today, however, it's just her and Bull and the Storm Coast, the others have given up on her and gone to find somewhere warm, somewhere dry, to wait for her to give up. The rocks she's trying to climb are slick and it's quickly becoming clear this was not a good idea. She's trying to find a way down, searching for a secure handhold, when her foot slips. For a moment it's like she's weightless, hanging in the air like gravity has no bearing on her, but then it's sharp curses and flailing as she tumbles down.]

Shit, shit, look out!

[Whether she's calling for him to get out of the way or break her fall is unclear, but it doesn't matter much. She slams straight into him, knocking the breath from even as she grabs onto his shoulders to keep from falling any farther. At least she wasn't impaled?]

[Bull has been watching. It's just not the best idea to leave the Boss alone to stubbornly do battle with a pile of slick rocks. He doesn't mind the cold and the rain as much as everyone else, so he sticks around to watch. When she comes tumbling down, he's there to break her fall with his chest.]

You know, Boss, we could always go around and see if there's a better way up on the other side.

[Although this is an area where the Boss doesn't often listen to reason. Being stubborn is great when you have to save the world and do the impossible, but this thing with the mountains is getting a little out of hand.]

[Still a little winded, she just pats his chest. She didn't think her weight would knock him over, not when he's built like... well, like a Qunari, but he barely even budged. It's very impressive. She's only about half aware her feet aren't even touching the ground.]

Nonsense, I almost had it. [No she really did not.] I just went left when I should have gone right. When have you ever known me to back down from a challenge?

[Spoilers it's never. Pretty much just never.]

[I can go original book or modern AU. If original, her time period makes a lot more kinda innocent things compromising for sure so feel free to play off that.]

[Let's be real - an accident of epic proportions has led you here]

[The meeting was going according to plan, until the ship lost it's main power line, according to the report on the speakers, caused by debris in the air. The repairs would start soon, please stay calm, there's no attacks.

The ship tilts dangerously to the right, and as much as Inaho wants to stay standing on his side of the room, gravity sadly still works and he ends up sliding down, crashing against the only other occupant in the room.]

Ah.

[Slaine's breath is knocked right out of him upon impact with a small, pitched sound that one might mistake for a squeak. Effectively flattened against the wall, he scrabbles against it in some attempt to get out from between Inaho and the unyielding surface, but the maverick tilt of the ship lends nothing to these efforts]

G-et off-

[It's a breathless attempt at sounding authoritative, barely audible over the distant crashes and screams resounding from neighboring rooms]

[Inaho doesn't seem to be making any effort at all of moving, instead he uses his arms to get in a more comfortable position, pushing himself up slightly.]

Moving wouldn't do us any good. The ship keeps tilting, the table and chairs moved and I don't want to be crushed by them.

[He's talking in a hushed tone, looking directly into Slaine's eyes as he does.]

[And that eye contact is doing absolutely nothing for Slaine's comfort. If he could press any further against the wall, he absolutely would - and it certainly seems as though he's trying to, whether he's cognizant of it or not.

He opens his mouth to argue, and finds himself shy of a response. Frowning then, he averts his gaze]

This is far from ideal.

[Even now that he's recovered his breath, his voice is no louder than before]

[Inaho opens his eyes, slightly, at the reaction the other boy gave him. It's interesting to see how his eyes had moved. He notices the little change in Slaine's voice and he decides to lower his own, make it a whisper, to see what reactions this might receive.]

Ideal and practical aren't always the same thing.
