Marriage for love is a such a modern concept. In the past, marriage was
recognised as a social contract. Unions were entered into for many
reasons: to obtain property, to unite families, to carry on a bloodline,
et cetera. Whatever the reason, congratulations, you're getting married!

POSSIBLE REASONS FOR MARRIAGE:
① Station → You come from a royal, noble, or otherwise distinguished family who has chosen a suitable spouse for you.
② Feud → You are being married to put an end to the bitter enmity between your two families.
③ Economics → Your economic state and/or your station will improve through the union, though one of you may be marrying down.
④ Empire → You and your spouse are merging your businesses and/or property to create something more influential or profitable.
⑤ Tribute → You have been offered as a gift or appeasement, alternately you're the spoils of war.
⑥ Bloodline → Carrying on your distinguished family name has fallen to you and the equally well-bred spouse of your family's selection.
⑦ Disapproval → Your marriage has been arranged to keep you away from the person with whom you truly wish to be.

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS:
① First meeting → This is the very first time you're meeting your future spouse.

[ While Sona is quite fond of Ky, she would rather not be married at such a young age, especially since her musical career is just starting to bloom. But alas, the Buvelle family want to solidify the bond between them and the Kiske family, so that they can start doing official things that Sona has no interest in.

It could be worse, she could have just married someone she despised (not that there are many people who fit that description).

The wedding itself was a wonderful experience -- and passed much quicker than she would have imagined.

The reception is held at a large hotel, and while everyone is drinking and talking to each other, Sona herself is not in the main lobby. She sits on the stairs instead, running her fingers over the intricate patterns on her wedding dress and taking the whole situation in. Sona Kiske-Buvelle... ]

[Ky, on the other hand, found himself playing the role of the gracious host. He was the one fielding much of the congratulations and well-wishes, and while he appreciated having such an atmosphere to field these matters in, he was more interested in spending time with his new wife.

After all, they were now bound to each other. Ky would have preferred to wait a few years more himself, but at the same time, he's aware that he's still very fortunate to find himself married to a woman he gets along well with -- especially since he considers her to be very beautiful.

Eventually, Ky separates himself from the thick of the party and finds Sona sitting on the stairs. Carefully, so that he doesn't sit on the tails of his jacket by accident, he sits down next to her.]

Are you all right?

[He reaches out with his hand, but stops with it held above hers. He wants a sign that it's all right to place his hand on hers, even reassuringly, before he does so.]

[ She reaches up and takes a hold of his hand, while he's hovering on it and clasps it with both hands.

It takes Sona a little while to reply, and even then it's only a nod. She shuffles closer to him, and smiles -- a real, genuinely glad smile. She's so glad that it was him and while it has been a long day she's glad for it to end like this. ]

[Ky simply watches Sona as she responds, and when she smiles, he smiles back. His is also a genuine smile.]

I'm glad. I know this situation isn't the most ideal, but I am serious about my intent to be as good a husband to you as I can be.

[ she turns his hand around, and starts tracing letters into his palm.

And then,

Her blush rising while she's doing this, she puts her head down as if to hide her cheeks. ]

[Ky's own face begins to turn red. That display was almost too endearing for words. Not only that, but he felt very happy at the way she responded to him.

Though he was feeling a bit self-conscious about the color of his face.]

A-Are you hungry? I can get you something to eat.

[ She peeks up to see him blush, and giggles a little bit, still red-cheeked herself. They're such a pair.

The wedding may be sudden compared to a long, matured relationship, but there's plenty of time to be learning sign language. For now, Sona is happy to make substitutes.

She nods, having not noticed how hungry she was until food was mentioned-- it has been a fair amount of time since the wedding dinner, and she hasn't even seen the snacks they have served at the party yet. ]

I thought you might. I'll go get you some food, then.

[Smiling, he gets up and walks back into the ballroom. He emerges a couple of minutes later with a plate full of appetizers. Shrimp, baguette slices, cheeses -- quite a few things. He then offers it to Sona as he sits down next to her.]
