[ It's usually the other way around.

She is the one who leaves, who goes into danger, who sees the fighting and bloodshed. Cullen stays behind, his job is at Skyhold. He waits for her.

Now, she's learning what that must be like. When she hears the horn announcing the arrival, it's all she can do to stop herself from bolting out of the keep like a silly, overexcited child.

She waits, gives it half an hour to finish up her meeting with Josephine and Leliana, then makes her way out, across the bailey, up the familiar stairs, trying not to look too breathless as she strides into the tower he's claimed as his office.

And then she sees him, looking pale, and the red. ]


Cullen. Maker's breath, you're hurt! [ He probably should've gone straight to the infirmary. ]
