The Bakerstreet Fall Festival
Welcome to the Fall Festival! The fairgrounds are bustling with the biggest celebration of the year. Huge banners announce the festival and direct passers-by into the different areas set up for the event. Shops and stalls everywhere sell food and drink, the smells of meat and cider and pie mingling with the sounds of voices and the dinging music of the rides.

As you move farther into the festival the path splits in two, offering different versions of the events, depending on what it is that you seek...

FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN

HAYRIDES - Hop onto a hay-filled wagon and ride around the nearby farms, enjoying the scenery, the company, and the fresh, hot apple cider.
LIVESTOCK - There are pens with prize-winning animals on display, shows with trained dogs performing tricks, horses demonstrating dressage, and a petting zoo with all manner of animals to admire and cuddle.
BOBBING FOR APPLES - Competitions with food is the name of the game, whether it's fishing apples out of a barrel of water, eating a doughnut suspended on a string, or pie-eating contests.
HAUNTED HOUSE - Scare your date into your arms! Hold their hand to reassure them! It's fun to get a little scare, even if the "monsters" are decidedly fake on closer inspection.
MASQUE - A live band provides music for the dance, where some wear costumes and everyone wears a mask, lending an air of mystery to the familiar as they whisk about the dance floor or enjoy the refreshments provided.
GAMBLING - Horse races, card games, tests of skill or strength. Rumor has it that there's even a hidden cockfighting ring somewhere on the grounds, kept secret from the authorities.
THE CORNFIELD MAZE - It's easy to become lost in the darkness, in the trampled rows between the tall stalks of corn. If you're lucky you might make it through quickly on your own, but if you're less daring there are maps available at the entrance to the maze.

ADULTS ONLY

HAYRIDES - Take a ride around the nearby farms and the beautiful scenery. Or just take the opportunity for a decently soft surface and see how the jolting of the carriage enhances sex.
LIVESTOCK - You may pass pens and stages where livestock perform. Only this livestock isn't made up of sheep and cows, these are people, dressed as their owners allow, performing as their owners command. There are even contests: who has the finest of the livestock? Who is the most exquisite specimen?
BOBBING FOR... APPLES? - Take the challenge and win a prize: either submit yourself to being blindfolded and made to perform oral sex on a volunteer, or go a step further, and go bobbing in a tub where a man or woman lounges among a scattering of apples. The faster you get them off, the bigger the prize.
HAUNTED HOUSE - Maybe you'll wander into the darker parts of the house, the ones where spiderwebs might bind you to the wall, and not release you until you've had your release. Or perhaps you've fallen through the ground into the basement, where it's said that monsters lurk. There might even be a particularly lonely ghost looking for someone to keep them company...
MASQUE - Don a costume, and swirl away in the lights of a beautiful dance where everyone is masked. Tonight is the night you become someone else. Tonight is the night where you let your inhibitions free.

Beware, though. If you're off your guard, your costume may start to exert an influence on you. You might become what you pretend to be.
GAMBLING - Bet conservatively, and hope for luck when you spin the wheel or play the cards, or you may end up forfeiting your body instead of your money.
THE CORNFIELD MAZE - You could find somewhere secluded and quiet to get down and dirty. Or maybe you're lost. They say there are certain creatures that haunt this maze, that look for wanderers to play with. You may be able to get out, of course, as long as you bribe one of the maze guardians. They'd be happy to lead you away, as long as you give them a hand, or a mouth, or more.

[I like all three of them, preferably on the adult-only side - I think I'd lean a little more toward 4 with Mitsuru being trapped or attacked by monsters, or maybe 6 where her opponent is cheating to make her lose but she can't prove it?]

Haunted houses of the sort you might find at a fair were generally the same, with rubber monsters, fake blood, and actors in costume poised to jump out at opportune moments. It wasn't really the kind of thing that Mitsuru enjoyed, but the others had wanted to go and for their sake she'd gone along without complaint.

It had been as she'd expected at first, but then somehow she'd managed to become separated from the rest of her group, which was odd in and of itself. They'd been there and then when she looked back they were gone, with no indication of where. Perhaps she'd missed a door or a turn or...something?

Mitsuru turned back, thinking to retrace her steps to the previous room, but as she moved to brush aside some dangling cobwebs they stuck to her hand in a way no fake prop cobwebs ever should. When she tried to pull away they only clung tighter, sticking to her arm, her other hand, and every other part of her that came too close, until she found herself close to the corner, tangled in the stuff from waist to shoulders and looking very, very irritated. Hopefully a worker or another guest would be along soon and could help her out, as little as she liked needing to ask for it.

[This was actually quite quaint, it's been a long time since anything tried to scare her. Katrina adjusted her scarf as she ducks into the set up, perhaps she might find something she could copy when she returns home.

Patchouli... wasn't entirely sure why she took this job. Haunted houses like these always ended up being kind of hokey, and she loathed crowds. Thankfully, she managed to be able to spend most of her time well behind the scenes. Not that that meant she didn't have to dress up -- she was stuck wearing a fairly tattered white cloak that was meant to make her resemble a ghost. It was absolutely ridiculous, she thought, but there was nothing she could do about it. Well, she could quit her job, but that didn't count. After all, she needed the money! She had a library that needed expansion!

So, ducking away from anyone's sight, she made her way to a room that she had thought was completely abandoned. of course, no such luck; she discovered the other woman wound up in spider webs she knew everyone was clearly instructed not to put to use. Frustrated, she ran over to the other woman -- at least, she 'ran' as best she could in the goofy cloak.

"Please don't struggle, miss! It'll just get worse! Oh, when I found out who put this up..."

Mitsuru did stop trying to pull against the entangling webs at the sound of the woman's voice, though that was more to preserve what remained of her dignity than anything else. "What is this substance?" she asked, turning her head to frown at Patchouli. "It seems rather dangerous to have out in the open like this."

Why, anyone might have brushed against it and become stuck. Not just her. Mitsuru was simply the very unlucky one to have done so.
