[Standing firm under her gaze, he readies as it will surely be coming soon, coiling his body like a spring ready to pounce. Damned if he isn't going to move first this time.]

[ Though she sidles closer to him, she doesn't close the distance between them... not yet. Katarina is waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and with Garen standing there, unwilling to initiate, that moment hasn't presented itself yet. ]

If I have any say in it, you will. [ A low chuckle. ] And you know I don't do well with surprises, Crownguard.

[ Another several steps closer. She can practically feel his body heat up close. ]

[He holds, because a push comes with the right timing, and a premature initiation throws everything off after. Bearing her words as she moves closer, his breath catches as he think he has an opening.]

[The battlecry an attempt to put her off her guard as he springs forward, enveloping one of her arms in his to keep her from fleeing, a swift movement behind his back has the flat of a dagger resting against the small of her back. It seems much too easy.]

For the love of-- [ When he moves, Katarina is taken aback by the swiftness of his actions, her arm caught in the vice grip of his own. She makes no attempt to twist away from the hold, knowing full well that any struggling will likely cause the dagger he holds at her back to drive into the flesh.

Instead, she leans into him, bringing a leg up to hook neatly around the outside of his hip for leverage, her free hand deftly unhooking one of the knives held in the leather garter at her thigh. She gazes up at him almost lazily, a smirk playing at her lips. ]

And here I thought you were trying to seduce me. [ She brings the knife up to the side of his neck, leaning her weight further against his. ] You still know nothing of subtlety. Try harder next time.

[There's a quake across his chest as he holds in a laugh. The battlecry always seemed to work. Supporting her seems effortless as breathing as he adjusts his footing to take her weight, the feeling of a victory ringing strong in his head. Though he doesn't get to enjoy it long, predictably, he has forgotten she has quite a few knives all over her person and tilts his head away from the blade. The very real hint of danger exciting the soldier.]

Are you sure I'm not trying both? [His gaze is still confident as he turns the knife, carefully grazing the edge over her skin. Rather than be angered by the mention of subtlety, he instead chuckles.]

Will you teach me then? I ache to hear you scream for me.

[ That battlecry of his haunts her dreams. Katarina can't begin to count the many times her eyes have snapped open in the middle of the night, her skin covered in a cold sweat and the damned word "DEMACIAAAAAAAaaa" ringing in her head. Still, this was no dream, and she pushes her knife to follow the incline of Garen's neck, though she doesn't allow the edge to kiss his skin. Not yet. ]

You'll need lessons in the art of seduction, too, then, if that's the case. [ The way her breath hitches in her throat betrays her words when he rotates the knife, her eyes flickering up to his, her gaze smoldering. Her smirk fades slightly at what he says next, and though Katarina is loath to admit it, her face begins to feel hot. ]

[ It's more of a statement than a question as she presses her weight further against Garen's, though whether it's in order to gain better leverage with the knife at his throat or if it's in order to press as much of her body against him as possible remains to be seen. ]

[It's gotten a bit more risky, as he can feel the coolness of the metal all the more sharply now, if only because he's run out of room to escape. Giving a soft grunt to show he's amiable to those lessons as well, he finds his lips rising in smile, though it quickly shifts into a grin.]

You'll have to wonder a bit longer, then, Katarina. [He whispers; they're close enough that there's no need for bravado to ring in his voice. Though it is his turn to feel a bit unsure now, as she presses closer. It's a very uncertain dance, but that uncertainty was what always brought him back for still more. He unpins her arm so he can curl his up and thread his fingers into her scarlet locks so he can get a bit more hands-on with her as her eyes hint that lesson time could start any second. Being harsh as he was, he doesn't doubt she can be an equally harsh 'teacher'.

Still, Garen isn't done just yet as he turns the knife again, sliding the flatness of the metal over her back and hooking the dull edge under the very obvious string that hugs the full curve of her hips, lifting to pull it taut. Just a flick of his wrist would sever it just as quickly as she might the artery in his neck.]

[ This little dance of theirs gets her blood pumping unlike anything else, and when he gives a grunt, she feels her heart leap into her throat. She can practically feel him whispering against her skin, and she bites her bottom lip as she presses all the more tightly against him when his fingers find her hair. The edge of her knife hovers dangerously close to his neck as her now-free arm snakes its way over his shoulder in order to let her own fingers to rougly entangle in the short hairs at the back of his head, her gaze smoldering as it meets his again. ]

It'd be unwise to keep me waiting too long, Crownguard. [ She murmurs the words softly as her back arches at the feeling of the knife's turning, prompting her to suck in a breath through her teeth. She leans forward to nip at his earlobe, turning her own knife in order to place the flat face of the metal flush against his skin. ] If you're going to make me scream, you'd best do it quickly. I'm not a patient person.
