[okay... just breathe, he kept telling himself just keep it together. he was on his way to tel weiss how he felt, how he really felt, and it would go properly this time.

well... he had hoped it would. if she turned him down after this then of course he would drop it, he wouldn't bring it up again- but he knew he couldn't just stop liking her suddenly either. he definitely had a massive crush on her... no, even bigger than that. he knew that he really did love weiss, and he accepted her for who she was.

but he had yet to say that to her so.... here goes nothing!

he had his flower in hand, he turned the corner... and he saw her walking towards him (and no neptune in sight). the young man walked up to her, smiling lightly and he tried to contain his excitement. wait, maybe it was nervousness... who knows at this point, he just had to get himself to stop shaking so much.]

Weiss! [he called out to her, stepping closer to her. he kept a reasonable distance from her, but then he cleared his throat and held out the flower to her.]

Okay so... I know you don't wanna go to the dance with me- that's cool... but I uh... have something I really need to tell you. So just, hear me out! It would mean the world to me if you would do that.

[ Weiss had already thought she'd lost her opportunity for the dance. Neptune had rejected her and she.. honestly didn't feel very good right now. She'd just told Ruby, Yang, and Blake that she didn't have time to bother with boys even if that wasn't strictly true and was heading to the library because at least there, no one could blame her for being crabby and wanting some quiet.

And then she saw Jaune. Since day one he'd been hovering around her and she'd been telling him to back off in no unclear terms, mostly because he'd started trying to very poorly flirt with her without even so much as trying to get to know her. It hadn't even occurred to her that the more time they spent together, the more he was learning about her and actually starting to care for her. Once she closed someone out like that, she didn't consider opening the doors back open because she knew all too well that most of the people who treated her that way weren't looking at her so much as what she had. She'd thought Neptune might be different, and it turned out he was. As far as she knew, he just plain wasn't interested in her at all. But now here Jaune was, trying again even though she'd slammed the door in his face the last time he tried to ask her and that was while she was feeling good about herself.

Weiss eyed the flower warily, folding her arms instead of taking it. She honestly doesn't expect anything remotely earnest from him. ]

Look, Jaune, whatever weird stunt you're trying to give me secondhand embarrassment over tonight, I'm really not in the mood.

[...okaayy... she wasn't taking it. that was cool too! he just held on to it and he coughed into his hand before speaking up again.]

N-none! No embarrassing things, I promise. Look I just...

[he took in a deep breath and then exhaled slowly. he can do this...! he has his friends supporting him, he can make everyone proud by telling her exactly how he really feels.]

I want you to know how much I really care about you. Yeah, I know it's kinda obvious that I like you and all that but... but it's way more than that! I admire you a lot, you know? More than anyone I've ever met.

[he twirled the flower in his hand as he rubbed the back of his head.]

...I really do. You're beautiful, way smart, and pretty much the most capable person I know of. I look up to that, too, and it makes me want to become a better leader. Ah no, a better person even. You're just so talented and strong, and..... and I wish I could be half the person you are.

Every time you shut me down I... I know I don't really have a chance with you- but I figured I had better try anyways. Because I accept everything about you too. Even if you're angry with me and everything, at least you're being real and truthful about it. I like that about you too- when you're able to so blunt, just 'cause... heh, I know I'm not brave like you are.

[he nodded to himself after all that, then shrugged.] ...Okaaayy.... that was pretty much it. I just figured I should let you know how much I like you and.... yup. That's all.

[...er... now what? he hadn't thought that far.]

[ That.. wasn't what she had expected. It certainly wasn't what she could've gleaned off of all of his previous attempts. He primped himself up and acted like he was the star of the show and she should want to be with him because of it. She'd seen the act before from other men who thought they deserved to be with her. The only thing that had ever stood out to her about Jaune was how terrible he was at it from beginning to end.

Until now, anyway. He was the first one not to decide she was being a crabby little Ice Queen or to just leave her alone. Despite all of the rejections, he'd said that she didn't need to go to the dance with him, he just wanted to tell her all of this. That he actually cared about who she was and noticed things other than that she was a Schnee. And Weiss didn't know how to react to that, because it'd never happened before.

Instead of saying something immediately, Weiss reached out and grabbed the flower from him, narrowing her eyes slightly as she watched him. After a couple of seconds, her gaze softened a little and she spoke. ]

I'll take the flower, but I already decided I wasn't going to the dance with anyone. If you want me to try to get to know you better, stop trying to talk to me during classes and don't ever try to sing to me again.

[ Weiss didn't know what she felt right now. She'd already been in a bad mood, but Jaune.. for once he'd actually gotten through that ice-cold shell of hers. She didn't know that she wanted to date him or anything, but he'd managed to shatter that image she had of him as just some boy trying to get a cut of her family's inheritance. That was something that she had yet to find anyone other than Neptune who could do that, and she only knew that with him for sure because he'd said no to her.

Blake and Ruby she expected wouldn't go about helping Jaune with something like this, but she'd seen Yang pat him on the shoulder and say things like maybe someday so there was always the possibility that Yang had just told him what she wanted to hear, but.. it seemed to frank to be that. Weiss would definitely ask her later, just to make sure, but she wanted to believe Jaune really meant what he'd said. ]

[...oh... she was taking the flower...? nice! wait don't get too excited there jaune, this doesn't really mean anything. but he was grinning down at her, and it was clear that he couldn't hide his excitement at all. he nodded as well, clapping his hands together and taking a step back from her.]

Good! I mean... it's... good that you... took my flower and all. [he gulps- DON'T LOSE IT NOW BOY.]

S-sorry! But I'll keep that in mind, I promise! Noooo more talking in class, cross my heart and all that!

[he takes another step back.] So I'm... just gonna go then. You enjoy whatever it was you were doing, then!

I'm going to the library.

[ Weiss can tell he's getting stupidly excited and she isn't sure why she told him where she was going. Honestly, she could've just gone off and sulked in the library in silence like she'd planned. She didn't exactly feel 100% like sulking anymore, but she couldn't exactly go back to her room right after she insisted that it was very important she got some extra studying done since she was falling behind in class because of the planning. (She wasn't, but it was a good excuse.) She didn't invite him, but it wouldn't hurt to let him know if he wanted to come talk to her or even just ask for homework help. She was at least willing to now. ]

I'm sure you've never been there until it closed, but it's open for 2 more hours. Have a good night.

[wait, was she inviting him?! she might not have actually been, but he thought she was for sure. so he stopped walking away then he just glanced around. he thought about it for a moment, just a small one honestly, and then nodded at her. he seemed rather eager and he trotted back over to her side.]

[ Weiss held the flower in her hands, fingers from both playing with the stem while she started walking toward the library again. She didn't actually bring her binder or books, which was probably a problem if she wanted to go study, but there would be something there. ]

Did you finish your homework already or are you going to be rushing before class tomorrow morning?

[Torchwick might of been put in prison ad while she was grateful a lot of dangerous people were behind bars, she couldn't shake the feeling of needing to continue going to White Fang rallies. Not because she believed in their purpose, no. She had grown from that and realized they were becoming akin to terrorists...

But she had to know for sure if that familiar flash of red would ever come in to her vision again.

This time, however, on her way in to the city late at night, it seemed like there was a hole not closed completely up which funneled in Grimm. How could such a thing be missed?

Blake had been face to face with them more than enough times to feel secure in her abilities, but for some reason the Grimm seemed more restless, hostile and angry. Slice after slice that she took, picturesque form and technique used, Blake took one by one out until only a small handful remained but even she could feel her Aura practically beating in the red danger zone.

The problem was only accentuated with a backhand of a large paw directly to her face that knocked her and flew her back against the wall of one of the bakeries that had finally rebuilt. Slumping, she fell from the hole while grabbing her head and heavy of breath. Great..she was going to get near death and no one would even realize she was gone till it was too late.]

[So maybe Sun had a weakness for cute Faunus girls. That was a category that Velvet most definitely fell in to. And he had felt that way ever since he met her. Though right now, he felt like kind of a creeper.

He was standing behind a tree, watching Velvet as she sat there reading a book or something. His tail was noticeable hanging out from behind one side of the tree. He came here to give her something, but now he was kind of getting cold feet. Enough so that he hadn’t moved from his spot yet.

When he thought she was about to look in the direction of the tree, he quickly ducked his head back behind, though his tail still hung out.]

[and a book she was indeed reading! she had come out here out in the fields by the school in hopes of some quiet, but she had a feeling that would soon be interrupted. she read quietly to herself for a good while, but she felt as though she was being... watched.

she glanced up from her book and over to the nearby tree, only to see a flash of yellow hiding behind it. she blinked and it was then that she noticed that tail peeking out from behind that spot. it was sun, she knew it to be so, and she didn't mind that at all. she smiled gently to herself and then got up to walk over to the tree. she moved around it and saw him there, and of course she gave him a little wave once she caught him.]

Having fun? [hiding and everything.]

[Whoops! She did spot him. Maybe his stealth skills weren't as good as he thought.] Oh, uh, yeah! A lot of fun!

[In one hand, he had a little box.] But I was coming here to give this to you. There was a buy one get one sale and I got something for myself..and..well, here.

[He holds the box out. There was just a piece of carrot cake inside.]

[he had been in the same area of her, but he hadn't made himself known just yet. he had come back to this particular spot because he had a hunch that the hole wasn't entirely closed up as well. the grimm attacking again would prove to be a problem- and that wasn't part of his plan. no, he still needed to put his own plans in motion with cinder... and he didn't want the grimm to ruin that.

however... then he had seen blake out there, fighting alone. his eyes widened from behind his mask, and he knelt down atop one of the rooftops nearby. he kept his own weapon close, and he told himself not to jump in. she was strong, she could handle this... he didn't want her to know he was around.

but then she was hit, hard. he saw her fly against the wall and he saw how hard she was breathing. her aura was low, insanely low... anymore hits like that and she would be dead instantly. adam clicked his tongue, and he had abandoned the thought process of not letting himself be seen. he got up and jumped from his spot, instantly flipping in midair and he brought his sword down on an ursa that had tried to strike blake. it was a critical hit and the bear went down easily.

once the ursa had fallen his form could be seen by blake. he slowly stood back up, he sheathed his sword, and he turned around so his back was to her. he glanced over his shoulder at her, not wanting to stay here for very long.]

Can you stand? [if she couldn't he would carry her, if she was too injured he would have no choice but to take care of her, he knew that now.]

[She heard the growl around her and she shook her head in hopes of getting rid of that ringing in her ears. How long had she been able to easily do these kinds of fights and no longer had to hear that ring from a hit-too-hard?

Taking a deep breath, she stood up and only saw bits of red that flashed like a bittersweet memory. Wait- was...?

No...

No she had to find him still. He was out there because she left him alone.

Staggering for a moment, Blake tried to speak after she saw the red in her vision and the Ursa's dust spray to the wind but it was such a shock that instead, she collapsed in a heap on the ground.]
